... a suspected suicide bomber detonated an explosive device in Ankara, Turkey right outside the U.S. embassy, killing himself and an embassy guard.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the attack happened at 1:13 p.m. local time, and that they were “working closely with the Turkish national police to make a full assessment of the damage and the casualties, and to begin an investigation.”

Gee, I seem to remember EVERY TIME a blast like this happened under George W Bush, the media IMMEDIATELY called into question the administration's Middle East policy.

I’m sure it was nothing more than a spontaneous response to an offensive You Tube video.

“O” and Evita probably were not ‘warned’ because our enemies got the message that there is NO ONE at the helm over here!

The prez and Evita couldn't have got a warning (directly or indirectly) even if they wanted to...positively NO ONE, in or out of the intelligence community or the nation at large, perceives them to be in charge!

Any ‘warning’ of that kind would certainly be a dead letter where these guys are concerned! It's all... ‘who's on first’ ... in this administration! Their lack of competency and accountability is beyond laughable.

No political careers were damaged in this attack.

Warning or not, there is not much you can do to stop a suicide bomber from killing a gate guard. By definition that is the perimeter where physical security starts. One has to assume there are all kinds of intelligence reports saying that an embassy is going to be attacked. What would we do other than close all the embassies?

And besides, "What difference does it make now?"

Hillary, is that you?

No, seriously: You are right in pointing out that a small-scale attack of this kind was not the sort of thing that intelligence people can be expected to anticipate. Further, as lamentable as the death of the one guard and the civilian woman is, there was apparently no breach of the security perimeter.

In the maddening words of Hilly, ‘what does it matter?’. It’s the new mantra for the administration of the boy King.

"What difference does it make now?"

Perhaps the quote of the decade, that says it all about these people.

Have you ever walked by the Israeli Embassy in DC and seen a man standing out front with a long trench coat on even in 90 degree weather. Let me tell you that bulge under his coat isn’t there because he is happy to see me.

“What would we do other than close all the embassies?”

I always assumed you had an intelligence community so that you'd never HAVE to close embassies.

If US intelligence types can't figure out the price of a cup of coffee in downtown Tehran... then they shouldn't BE in the intelligence business.

At that point you can buy your intel from someone else and give up being a world power. This is a very conscious decision Liberals made long ago and it's the primary reason I could never support a Liberal President. EVER! THEIR idea of leadership and foreign policy is way to infantile and gullible. They would have an 'intelligence community' of Kumbaya beatniks who can't get their hands dirty or offend ANYONE.

Oh come on, Hillary! said that they get 1.43 million cables a year from around the world, so how can you expect any information ever to get through?

Don’t be surprised if this was the precursor to a full attack. They like to sit and watch the security measures being placed.

‘1.43 Million cables’??

Really!

She's just like that tin horn she married. He was good at pulling worthless and laughably bogus information out of his a&^-too!

Both of these a%$ hats are spoiled by the wholesale and boundless credulity of life-long Liberals! They lost the habit of accounting for themselves LOOOOONG ago!

My point is the utter LACK of curiosity by the media regarding team BO and his approach to the MIDDLE EAST.

Bush was attacked every single time a car backfired in that region. And the media worked TIRELESSLY to demoralize the American public, the troops, and our allies.

The assclown gets no criticism.
