Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten named Bart Starr Award winner

It was a busy Friday morning for Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. First, he accepted the Athletes in Action 2013 Bart Starr Award, given to an NFL player for outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community.

After that, he was whisked to the Morial Convention Center for a press conference announcing the finalists for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.

“To be honest, this is a little uncomfortable because you never want to be recognized,’’ said Witten, who just completed his 10th season in the NFL and is the top pass catcher in Cowboys history. “I never said I’d do it for any of this. You do it to be a small impact in peoples’ lives. The best part is the pureness and giving back.’’

Though Witten works with numerous charities, it is his SCORE Foundation that he and his wife, Michelle, are best known for.

Not a regular in the National Felon League, good for Jason. Yup, Ray Lewis will get the job done. Of course, Lewis hired top notch trial attorneys so his fall guys/ homies didn’t get convicted for murder too!

A class act all the way around. My favorite sports pic of the last decade is the one of him turning around to continue heading upfield - missing his helmet, which had just been torn off his head. A stud, to be sure.

Good for him. His childhood was certainly sad... thank goodness for his Grandpa. Thanks, RB!

Sorry he has to play for a team with such a poor General Manager.

Would someone please buy Jerry a ticket on the SS Minow, just the three hour tour.

Witten is one of the few bright spots on an otherwise dismal team.

He’s actually too good for the team.

Unless/until Al Davis Jr. (aka J. Jones) gets his ham fists off the daily running of the team AND they get rid of Romo AND they get rid of Bryant they will continue to fall short of the playoffs.

Did you hear about JJ Watts “wedding” to a young fan. LOL.

IT’S SUNDAY BEEEEEOTCHES!

My gut is telling me Baltimore. I don’t really care who wins for the first time in a while.

Probably means I’ll enjoy the game more.

JJ Watts...douche.

I'm picking my boys, 28-21, over the Baltimore Thugs. SF is the only reason I'm watching at all.

And before some smart ass (not part of “the gang”) says: “Oh, your pissed because there's no Tom Brady playing or “SPYGATE”!” I've posted here many times I'm sick of Brady and the Pats haven't won sh*t since Spygate. So go piss up a rope.

I hate “Pray” Lewis and his bullsh*t act. It would be AWESOME if the murdering dirt bag blew out his entire body doing that seizure-inspired tribal “dance” he does.

And this will be the last NFL game I watch for a long, long time. I'm “Rooney Ruling” the NFL. I'm tired of Roger Goodell too. Douche. I'll tune in ~6:45, skip halftime and shut it off as soon as the final gun (Where's Pray Lewis?) goes off. Unless it's a blowout then I stop watching earlier.

NHL!!! Great win by the Bruins last night!

I don’t buy Lewis’s jesus christ act and leadership schtick. It seems so fake to me. Seem to have sparked his team though.

Brady was a docuhe for leaving his pregnant GF,the beautiful Bridget Moynahan.

Lewis is as fake a four dollar bill.

Tom Brady. If the timeline of events is studied, the consensus is Bridget wanted a baby, Tom didn’t and she “pulled the goalie” around the time they broke up. That’s the story around the water cooler.

OTOH, Tom’s sister who married Youkilis (she was knocked up) has another kid out of wedlock too, so the Brady Bunch are a fertile group. Whatever...

I think Bridget is MUCH prettier than “run like a” Giselle.

” “pulled the goalie” “

WOAH!! Haha. Well Tom had no problem with knocking up Giselle. Maybe he figured since he was already having one....

Giselle ain’t bad (was a big smoker till she quit recently, look for her to get fat as she discovered food tastes better) but I agree Bridget all the way. Classic beauty.

She’s on some show called Blue Bloods starring Tom Selleck, I watched if for the first time a couple days ago. Her daughter on the show looks like a girl Justin Bieber (or a young Alison Lohman).

What did you think of KGB Felicity?

10-4! Plus she's got DiCaprio DNA embedded in her.

“What did you think of KGB Felicity?”

HOT! Did you watch? The opening was HOT. Did you hear the tape recording the “husband” was listening to? Kinky little whore! I think the show has promise. FX really does a good job with their TV shows.

Yes it was good, I agree about FX shows, Sons, Justified (might be the best). And it’s not just cause of the reduced censorship (though that helps).

Naughty girl, excellent idea getting that wonderful filth in via audio only. I felt bad for the husband who clearly loves her and is warming up to America. I correctly surmised that she would get him to kill that guy by revealing that he raped her. I bet she’d chop off his nads before she’d let him defect. I hope at least the poor bastard gets to sleep around for work too.

I’ll add “Sunny in PHI” and “The League” to the list of excellent shows FX produces.

Nice move by FX to get X-rated sex into an R-rated show.

“I hope at least the poor bastard gets to sleep around for work too.”

Me too! I hope they don’t go homo...
