The city of Lansing has set February 9 as the date for it's next gun buyback program. It will take place at the Tabernacle of David Church at 2645 W. Holmes Rd in Lansing, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The "Guns for Groceries" program will exchange Meijer gift cards for operable guns. People who turn in a long gun will receive a $50 card, $100 cards will be given for a handgun and a $150 card will be given for each military-style assault weapons.

Only 10,000 dollars available. That is only 200 long guns or a 100 handguns. It could be a prime opportunity to pick of some decent guns inexpensively. A nice .22 pump or bolt gun for $75 would be very good. An in shape double that is functional for $100 is a steal. A Marlin 30-30 or Savage 99, or other deer rifle for $150 is three times what they are giving, and still a very good bargain.

Many activist across the country are attending these propaganda events, giving the leftists bad publicity, and getting some nice guns to boot.

I understand that special forms are necessary for the purchase of handguns in Michigan.

arugula starts with “ar”.

since it shares a common feature with a weapon of mass destruction, it should be banned.

The last line of the story is questionable since Michigan is an open carry state but the possibility of some good deals exists just the same.

When they did this in Detroit a while back, police tried to block people from crossing the street where the private buyers were.

Purchase permits aren't required with a CPL. :D They still need to be registered though.

If I can afford two guns (the lady will demand one too....), I'll get down there. I know the Lansing area well.

Are people allowed to go there and proposition the people bringing in guns to buy it from them for MORE than the pawltry sum they are giving for the guns?

Just about any serviceable shotgun or rifle is easily worth $75 or $100 at a bargain.

I am sure that I can be talked into bringing down a couple cans of tuna to trade for a gun.

It’s a good deal, and I can help feed the indigent.

Don't those ijjits ever learn anything? And maybe somebody could teach the maroon who wrote the story (a wordsmith, presumably) the correct use of the little apostrophe while they're at it.

Sounds like another “buy ‘em up and hold a gun show” opportunity for local gun enthusiasts. Offer the folks prepaid Visas and outbid the other guys!

Wait...wait...wait. According to the lefties, ALL gun transfers should require a background check - are they going to do background checks here? < / sarc>

What about people buying multiple weapons at one time - the left opposes this too..... Oh so many positions that they oppose that they're doing at these "buybacks". It really has to be confusing to be a leftie. Up means down on some occasions except when it doesn't suit the situation.......
