In some cases that may be true but suppose you must make the choice in a US Senate race between a RAT and a RINO, which one will you choose?
Somehow there are those who ardently believe that all that's required is to have an "R" at the end of one's name, and that is the sole standard. The fact that ideologically the candidate is a near clone of a Democrat (or can easily be moved to the dark side) is never even considered.
Statists, liberals, wishy-washy types, craven politicians who will say anything to get elected - these are all joyously welcomed, as long as they have that precious "R" after their name.
