What the Babies Would Say

It is one of life's great mysteries that so many liberal people are so callous when it comes to aborting fetuses. I mean, the Democratic convention last summer was almost a pro-abortion pep rally, as a variety of pro-choice speakers, including the self-proclaimed "Catholic woman" Caroline Kennedy, knelt at the altar of "reproductive rights."

Recently, another woman who calls herself a Catholic, Mary Elizabeth Williams, wrote a shocking article for Salon. Entitled "So What if Abortion Ends Life?" Williams starkly states: "I believe that life starts at conception. And it's never stopped me from being pro-choice."

In the body of the article, Williams says this about her own pregnancies: "I never wavered for a moment in the belief that I was carrying a human life inside of me."

And she continues, "Here's the complicated reality in which we live: All life is not equal. That's a difficult thing for liberals like me to talk about... (A) fetus can be a human life without having the same rights as the woman in whose body it resides. She's the boss. Her life and what is right for her circumstances and her health should automatically trump the rights of the non-autonomous entity inside of her. Always."

So now a developing fetus or viable baby ingesting in the womb is a "non-autonomous entity." Good grief!

The measure of a decent human being is how he or she treats the defenseless. The philosophy of Williams echoes past tyranny: Might makes right! What gives Williams the right to determine that her life is better than the baby she carries? Who appointed Williams the arbiter of who lives and who dies? Always, Williams? Abortion is acceptable always?

We are not talking about life endangerment or catastrophic damage to the mother here. No. What Williams believes, and she's not alone, is that a woman can execute her fetus simply because "she's the boss."

You may remember the late-term abortion doctor George Tiller. For $5,000, Tiller would drill a hole into the skull of a baby anytime up until birth. Tiller had an assistant in his Kansas clinic, Dr. Ann Kristin Neuhaus, whose assignment was to put on paper a reason for the late termination. Pretty much any reason would do, including "anxiety."

On May 31, 2009, Tiller was shot through the eye while attending a church service. His killer, Scott Roeder, is serving life in prison. The murder made national headlines, and in many press dispatches, Tiller was portrayed as a martyr. People like me who had criticized Tiller before the vicious crime were accused by far-left loons of encouraging the assassination.

On June 22, 2012, Neuhaus was informed that Kansas authorities had revoked her medical license. A judge ruled that she did not perform adequate mental health examinations of 11 abortion patients. The prosecution said that Neuhaus was a "threat to any future patients she might have."

Not to mention the babies she helped Tiller abort.

There comes a time when a human being has to either face evil or admit to allowing it. Abortion is legal in the United States, but it should not be celebrated or used as a political tool. Viable babies are human beings. If they could talk, they would tell Williams and other pro-choice zealots that their lives should not be marginalized by someone who thinks she's the boss. That's what the babies would say.

people are so callous when it comes to aborting fetuses...

When pregnancy is confirmed, women don’t say “I’m having a fetus.” They say, “I’m having a BABY.” Call it what it is.

I think these babies would ask, in a nutshell:

Why do you feel your life is so much more important than mine?

Well of course, that is the natural progression of Progressives. Right now, the "undesirables" take money out of your pocket, not their's, but more importantly they serve the function of producing votes for Democrats.

When the day comes that those votes aren't needed, you will see Democrats use the usual statist approach of elimination.

I again draw your attention to the Orwellian terminology of the abortion-advocates. They claim to be for “reproductive rights,” yet they are preventing reproduction, and ignoring the rights of a new human being. The very attempt at euphemism should not deceive anyone, but should highlight the lie behind the whole abortion movement.

The second basic thing to note is that the advocate is usurping the prerogatives of God, and acting like an evil demonic force. She is “the boss,” and can decide life or death (she prefers death) for another human being. By herself. This goes even beyond a genocidal or otherwise mass-murdering movement, where at least individual participants can claim extenuating circumstances (momentary delusion, obligations of membership in a totalitarian party, greater social good, &c.)

I discussed abortion once with a nurse who has participated in the “procedure.” She said that it made her uneasy at first, but then she got used to it, and it now caused her no problem. This woman is Jewish, but probably very secularized. I was tempted to blurt out, “Congratulations. You have conquered your natural feelings, just as the killers in the Holocaust were able to do, by being ‘strong.’” But I said nothing, and I think that it was not so much my natural politeness, as my being dumbfounded that someone could say this, and adapt so easily to evil.

As Alexandr Solzhenitsyn said in a somewhat different context, “This shows how thin is the veneer [of civilization].”

If minorities ever realize what the liberals are doing to them, then there is hope for America. When will minorities realize that somehow the liberals situate almost all abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods? Also when will they realize that liberals herd them into dysfunctional union controlled urban schools while the liberals “choose” good private schools for themselves.

What are pre-viable babies, Bill?

The altar of Molech. It's Biblical.

There was a European country about 75 years ago where the answer to that question was "Yes".

And another one today where the answer is "Yes".

The only justification for abortion is promiscuity. Sin based on sin.

Even in the time of the ancient Hebrews, there were those who proclaimed themselves Hebrew, and said they worshiped JHVH, but could not resist sacrificing their children to the pagan god Moloch.

They did this because the priests of Moloch promised them bountiful harvests and wealth if they put their children on the red-hot hands of the bull god to be burned alive.

So horrific was this seen by the Hebrew priests, there was a death sentence not just for all involved, but for those who knew of such things and did not drive out the Moloch worshipers.

Yep. Pretty much sums up why it’s so popular today as well: one reason. It’s profitable for men, women, and the Democratic party.

Women who allow the abortions are promised power, freedom, relief from responsibility.

Let’s not forget birth control either. It’s a HUGE, HUGE business - and more of it leads to more abortion.

Money and power — the two greatest loves of most human beings, and the two which are put most before the love of God.
