Data grab: Doctors will be forced to hand over sensitive information about patients as part of a new programme called Everyone Counts but campaigners have criticised the move
The data includes weight, cholesterol levels, body mass index, pulse rate, family health history, alcohol consumption and smoking status.
Diagnosis of everything from cancer to heart disease to mental illness would be covered. Family doctors will have to pass on dates of birth, postcodes and NHS numbers.

Have you been shopping at Walmart? Our CommieCare commissars will have to manufacture super-sized tape measures when that kicks in in the U.S. Good luck on putting our obese on a government-controlled diet.
Hacked? I know a couple of private investigators who for $500 can get any government record on anyone you would want.
Yes. And just imagine what political opponents can do with medical records. John Roberts should resign in disgrace.
Surprise. They are already doing this in America.
I know Insurance companies are doing it....In order for us to get some kind of piddly credit ($50?)...my husband made me fill out a Blue Cross health questionnaire several years ago. They wanted to know drinking habits, waist size, weight, etc. I got a letter back telling my my BMI was too high (I’ve always been heavier, because I HAVE more MUSCLE mass than the average woman). And, they also said I drank too much wine...(I think I told them 1 glass of red a day....) I have exercised ALL my life and am in better shape than most women half my age.
So, I’m going to have to lawyer up and take the 5th when I go for a prostate exam...
If you “take the 5th” that’ll go into your drinking records.....
what’s the problem? any good rancher does this to his cattle (or ... sheep...)
That’s socialized medicine for you.....everything becomes everybody’s business.
“Have you been shopping at Walmart?”
Yeah, go Google “Walmartians.” You will be in for a surprise as to what constitutes the “human form” shopping at Walmart today!
I hear ya. I tried the vitamin get healthy route. I got very sick. I don’t do sweets, alcohol, coffee or tea, or soda. That choice is up to the individual. I am very within my weight range. Do have some health issues; but that is to be expected. One size fits all is not a good rule.
Yah, but at least I'll be more comfortable getting a prostate exam with my lawyer there. I'm kind of used to that kind of thing with lawyers.
