Three Wilmington churches were struck by graffiti vandals early Saturday morning, police said.
The vandals stenciled the words "brain washed" on statues, exterior walls, doors and stairs, according to the Rev. Philip Early, pastor of Saint Thomas of Villinova and Saint Dorothy's Catholic churches. A nearby Congregational church was also damaged.
Early said, "Acting out accomplishes nothing."
The graffiti was discovered early Saturday morning as several funerals were about to get underway.
These brats caused a significant amount of damage, spray-painting the church steps, the church interior, and exterior statues.
Reminds me of "The Exorcist."
The scu*bags are coming out in the open but not revealing their identities.
One wonders if there will be an apprehension of the perpetrators or will the incident be considered an expression of First Amendment rights by atheists or some other group hostile to Christianity?
I’m confident that Dear Leader will treat this as a hate crime and spare no expense in prosecuting the Amish and the Tea Party for this joint criminal enterprise.
This is only the beginning. Soon there will be pickets around churches on Sundays...people chanting anti-Christian, liberal dogma.
Christians are now being portrayed in the mass media as haters...and child abusers. Especially Catholics. Much more to come.
In a few years Christians will receive the smokers routine...they will be publically shunned. Churches will be attacked...with government and media approval...and Christians will have to meet in private.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
Where’s the top of the hour, coast to coast shrieking of “Hate Crime”?
That's normally true, and it may be the case here.
But I was able to see the news report, and the vandalism was very systematic. The vandals used a template and spraypaint. In the one church that I saw, the word "brainwashed" was spraypainted on just about everything, including every single step leading up to the church, perhaps to maximize cleanup expense.
My guess is college age or above --anarchists or the Occupy crowd. It didn't seem like the typical pointless swastika graffiti.
Can you imagine if three temples of the Left, three abortion clinics, were vandalized like this?
It's receiving minimal, perfunctory coverage in Boston.
