. . . when the reality is that joint injuries (knee, hip, elbows and shoulders) and the lifelong pain that accompanies them is a much greater problem for retired NFL players. Not just NFL players. My father in law (80 years old in June) still suffers from a gimpy knee he acquired in high school football some 64 years ago.
These type of injuries are way more common and get way less publicity because they are not life threatening.

No, they just lead to crippling pain that never goes away and makes it a two hour chore to get out of bed in the morning. Pain so bad some ex-players have blown their heads off to escape it. That's not to cheery a topic either.

Football will be shut down. What is funny is that they are pushing soccer as a replacement, which has higher rates of injuries and brain damage.
