Right now, in bars, churches, union halls, and by the water-coolers at work, they're all getting their "told-you-so's" from tea partiers. People are experiencing just the opposite of what they were promised. There's an embarrassment factor here, and it's important.
Imagine if you're a Democrat Senator up for reelection in 2014. Do you really want to to go to a town hall and defend this boondoggle?
Time for Republicans to put up the alternative plan-it will be listened to now.
Yes, but will Republicans be able to capitalize on it? Will they be able to parlay the issue into a mid-term sweep?
Or, will Democrats be able to tie a large albatross around the neck of the GOP, claiming Republicans "refusal to fund" certain elements of the plan are what's [will be] causing the pain?
My guess right now is that there's at least a 50% chance the blame will be cast on Republicans, and the sheep will buy it.
