Huh? Racist assaults against blacks? NYC? Huh? When, how? It’s been the other way around for fifty plus years, or more.

in the 1988 presidential campaign, for example, he said Jews would be 'crazy' to vote for Jesse Jackson because of his 'Hymietown' slur about New York and his support for a Palestinian homeland -- may have helped foster an atmosphere in which some young whites felt emboldened to commit such assaults.

That's the liberal mindset in a nutshell.

It's not that they call New York "Hymietown" or support Palestinians that embolden people to act. It's others calling them out on it that is the emboldening act.

It's too bad that the last experiences of Ed Koch are of being betrayed by Barack Obama.

Before this is over, most people will be thinking that Ed Koch is a prime example of a racist, reactionary Republican.

Racist assaults on blacks since 1970: 2

Against whites: 50

Against orientals: 100

Looks like we can call it even.

Leave it to the cowards at the NYT, to defame a man after he’s gone.

Yes, Koch did have the guts to say things like "Jews would have to be crazy to vote for Jesse Jackson," risking a backlash from black radicals. But that was back then.

By contrast, in his final year of life, Koch showed he was more of a partisan 'Rat than a pro-Zionist Jew by enthusiastically backing "Osama" Obama for the second term in the White House, just as he did in 2008, claiming that Obama was a friend of Israel and espousing that garbage frequently over the airwaves.

If Koch had real political courage, he would have become a Republican based primarily on his world geopolitical view, but he never had any intention of doing so. At his core, he was always ideologically a big government taxer and spender.

I’m just curious, is Koch’s rent controlled apartment available?
