7-year-old playing an imaginary game at school gets "dispended" for real (Article and Video)

LOVELAND, Colo. — A 2nd grader has been suspended from school in Loveland for a make believe game he was playing.

The 7-year-old says he was trying to save the world. But school administrators say he broke a key rule during his pretend play.

“I was trying to save people and I just can’t believe I got dispended,” says Alex Evans, who doesn’t understand his suspension any better than he can pronounce it.

“It’s called ‘rescue the world,’” he says.

He was playing a game during recess at Loveland’s Mary Blair Elementary School and threw an imaginary grenade into a box with pretend evil forces inside.

“I pretended the box, there’s something shaking in it, and I go ‘pshhh.’”

The boy didn’t throw anything real or make any threats against anyone. He explains he was pretending to be the hero. “So nothing can get out and destroy the world.”

But his imaginary play broke the school’s real rules. The school lists “absolutes” designed to keep a safe environment. The list includes absolutely no fighting, real or imaginary; no weapons, real or imaginary.

“Honestly I don’t think the rule is very realistic for kids this age,” says Alex’s mom Mandie Watkins.

Alex is like a lot of 2nd graders, perpetual motion. His mom says the little boy doesn’t understand why pretending to be a soldier was wrong. “I think that when a child is trying to save the world, I don’t think he should be punished for it.”

At least one other parent FOX31 Denver talked to agrees with her.

“That’s just a boy growing up,” says Elliott Orozco. “That’s what I did and I didn’t become a bad guy.”

Nevertheless, Alex will be playing at home rather than in the school yard because his mom says he’ll stay home until this can be worked out.

So what are the parents going to do about it?

Are they going to stand by and let it happen or are they going to stand up.

If the parents let this happen with out a fight they are setting a bad example, even if they lose they will teach him that some things are worth fighting for.

With this evidence added to the mountain of similar evidence that leftwing NEA idiots and traitors have taken over our public school systems, does anyone really think the kids are getting any kind of real education?

It’s time to bring these people to justice with indictments for child abuse, trials, convictions, and hard sentences.

Oops, I forgot. Prosecutors and judges were largely educated in public school systems.

... never mind.

The mother’s comments sounded lukewarm and too ready to “work it out.”

All over the country people have been following the story of brave men who rescued a little boy from a bad man. Will there be little boys who grow up to be brave men who will rescue other little children?

What a sad state we are in. My boys go to Catholic school, but unfortunately I don't think their reaction would be too much different.. hopefully we never have to test it.

My boys are 8 and 9 now, both have been shooting since they were 5. the each have their very own Henry single shot bolt action. We feel like we have acclimated them quite well from a firearms perspective. Unfortunately, we now ALSO have to teach them about an even bigger danger: the stupid public.

We all have an agreement and that is we all understand that within our family, we understand tools and firearms. We also understand that many other people NOT in our family are quite illiterate when it comes to guns and they panic like scared wildlife if they even see one. The boys know the score and they know to just not talk about it and expose themselves to the ignorant side of society. Unfortunately, it's much more work teaching my kids about the idiots than it is gun safety and proper firearms use.

This is actually, literally psychotic. The suppression of the normal childhood imagination will turn the aggression inward. This is worse than beating a child with a belt.

You have to wonder how much of this total suppressive behavior conditioning increases the risk for future mass murderers due to the explosion when the conditioning breaks down.

America is no longer the home of the free and the brave. It’s the home of PC pansified wimps begging our enemies to take over.

Aw come on guys, everybody knows the new way to “save the world” is through the “liberal approach”. We have to appease our enemies. If we are really nice to them they won’t hate us any more. They will become our friends. We have to be more understanding of their culture. The new game in town is: Cater to the Islamist

If all the students were in the auditorium and spontaneously threw imaginary grenades and pointed fingers like guns yelling bang, bang...would they all be suspended?

The parent should demand that all pencils, books, belts and any other object that can be potentially used as a weapon in the school be removed and in lieu of that interpretation of the policy her son should be allowed back in school due to the fact the policy as it stands is not being enforced uniformely by the administration.

Let me get this straight:

They have a rule against 7 year old boys imagining.

OK Got it.

AND WE LET THESE DUMB ASSES TEACH OUR CHILDREN?????....

You nailed it Honey! It’s time to get these dumb asses removed from the schools and school boards. Common sense is not so common any longer. We need to start right in the schools since these people spend too much time with our kids, brainwashing them. We have to take this country back! It may take generations but we have to start some time and now is as good as any. Get on our school boards and take charge.

Really? Never heard of this game, but, then girls have changed a bunch since I was a little girl.

The left has been working really hard on turning little girls away from baby dolls like I had. The emphasis has gone from role playing as a mother to role playing as a glam girl like Barbie. Then there are the Bratz dolls who look like prostitutes.

The left has been very successful in corrupting the world view of children. Sad, sad world we have.

Lillywhite, Colorado: Now I’ll be the pixie that brings Martin Luther King’s Love to all the children of the world and we’ll dialogue about how that love and respect can spread throughout our community.

Compton, Ca: I’ll bust a cap in your skinny azz and rape your woman and then I’ll go to prison and you can be my prison wife. Then you get jealous and then we’ll have a brawl in the cafeteria.

“The school lists “absolutes” designed to keep a safe environment. The list includes absolutely no fighting, real or imaginary; no weapons, real or imaginary.”

Educators are taking the stand that ANY exposure to guns, or other weapons, will ultimately lead to the children WANTING to use those items.

Regardless of the lack of common sense in their position, I have to ask them that if the exposure to “guns or weapons” will make the children want to use those items, then what is the reasoning behind their constant desire to expose these same children to sex?

I’d say that not only is their position filled with hypocracy, but it also exposes their perversions.

So I assume they don't talk about wars in the history classes? Or are kids not permitted to talk about wars outside of class? This is insanity.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Sounds like the demagogues who made up this stupid rule are more out of touch with reality than the boy who was playing make believe. I guess it's never too early to begin to emasculate the male.

Mom ought to keep him home for good and homeschool him and give him his childhood back.
