Gov. John Kasich today joined the growing ranks of Republican governors who will expand Medicaid...
However, the brief also said that Ohio would "reverse this decision" if the federal government failed to cover nearly all of the cost of expansion, as it has said it would.
The expansion of Medicaid fulfills an option under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to provide coverage to adults living at up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level. Last year, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states have the ability to opt in or out of the program, but they cannot partially expand it.
"Obamacare is the law of the land for now and Ohio needs work to reduce its impact," stated a brief released by Kasich's administration....

The GOP has made no move, nationally, to end ObamaCare....the states will cave too. If FL Gov Rick Scott is willing to let the Black Racists lynch George Zimmerman....you think he holds firm against ObamaCare? I don’t. Not someone who ran a company that got a lot of its income from the government
Very few can resist “free” money. And in a state that went for Baraq by 3%, his political survival instinct is kicking in.
I think they’re all being drugged or something. Republicans in office everywhere are caving on everything. Hussein is throwing out orders and items from his agenda one after another, as if to keep everyone off-balance because we can’t even keep track of all the fires, much less put them all out. That, I have no doubt, is the plan. Just overwhelm we the people so we can’t keep at our representatives about any one thing-no sooner is Obamacare passed than we’re having to push back on amnesty, then our Second Amendment rights-it’s too much for us to be able stay focussed on one thing before another one’s thrown out. The Rs just cave, after a little grandstanding. They also know we can’t keep up, and that works for them.

The blackmail and the coercion consist in the millions and millions of federal dollars promised to the states to implement the program. The governors of Ohio and Arizona are two of the most conservative around. But they've decided their constituents will benefit more from the federal blackmail than they will by standing by the principle of small government.
Oh, and the governors will maybe get to stay in office instead of being hounded out by the Dems and the press.
I don't agree with them on the principle, but they're probably right about the hounded out part. Of course they're being blackmailed.

I realize that there will be a “Republican” party of sorts in numerous state governments for a while longer. But at the national level, as a party of national influence, the Republicans may be on verge of a collapse unprecedented in American politics.
If they lose the House in 2014, and fail to make any significant gains in 2016, I sense that they will not survive as a party of national influence afterwards. Their time will be over. A permanent minority party, and at most a minority party of slowly (but continually) dwindling effect. And that’s the best case scenario.
Wonder who will step up in their place?
