You know Americas changing when leftists have even infiltrated Texas schools, EAGnews.org finds.
According to the website txcscopereview.com, a lesson plan for 6th graders in government schools reads as follows:
Notice socialist/communist nations use symbolism on their flags representing various aspects of their economic system. Imagine a new socialist nation is creating a flag and you have been put in charge of creating a flag. Use symbolism to represent aspects of socialism/communism on your flag. What kind of symbolism/colors would you use?
Texas legislators looked none too kindly on this revelation as they questioned the curriculums creators at a recent hearing.
The Star-Telegram reports:
Members of the Senate Education Committee on Thursday grilled the creators of a curriculum system used across Texas that critics say promotes anti-American values and stifles classroom flexibility. Committee Chairman Dan Patrick, R-Houston, called it a mess. One witness compared the system to "mind control," and an algebra teacher wept as he described quitting because he felt he was aiding and abetting a crime by using CSCOPE in his classroom.
CSCOPE is an electronic curriculum management system that offers Web-based lesson plans and exams designed to help teachers adhere to state education requirements. It is used in 875 school districts -- more than 70 percent of districts statewide -- and is supposed to be flexible enough for teachers to alter content to meet their individual needs.
A string of witnesses before the Senate Education Committee criticized the program for promoting liberal values they said are anti-Christian at best and openly socialist at worst.
They also complained that it is hard for nonteachers to get a look at the program.
[Educrat Wade] Lebay was even asked to read part of a sixth-grade lesson plan that showed different countries' flags and instructed students to notice that socialist and communist countries use symbolism on their flags" It went on to ask students what symbols they would use if they were to create a flag for a new socialist country.
First-term Sen. Larry Taylor, R-Friendswood, asked, Does that sound like we're sympathizing with those types of countries? He later said he found the lesson plan very egregious as a Texan and an American.
In TEXAS!!! Who would’a thunk it.
This in Texas!? California maybe, but Texas!? Never. These are truly signs of the apocalypse. Repent!! Repent!! The end is near!!!!
At least we’re pissed off about it. Up in Massachusetts, the teachers would be thrilled.
let me get this right.
there is a group which sets out standards but only those who sign up can see them and then they have to sign a gag order and cannot show anyoneelse even the head of education in TX.
Who are these idiots because I;ve just done a search and read some of their disclaimer and it gives nothing of substance on who they really are and why have they not been closed down ?
CSCOPE is a comprehensive online curriculum management system developed and owned by the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC), a consortium composed of the 20 ESCs in the state.
The curriculum and instructional components of CSCOPE are based on best practice models from top researchers in the field of education, including: Robert Marzano, Fenwick English, John Crain, Heidi Hayes Jacobs, Grant Wiggins, Jay McTighe, H. Lynn Erickson, and James Barufaldi.
I would suggest Texans find out what they can about the above-mentioned commies.
Okay, not the least surprised, but the question is... what are we going to do about it?
Page 3 of Chapter 1 of the following power point presentation by Fenwick English quotes Saul Alinsky:
Homeschool. Need I say more...
My question is this...what are you Texans going to do about this?
At four and a bit, my boy knows enough about communism and drawing to draw a flag with bones or bodies lying down on it.
I am proud of homeschoolers, but I consider it a challenge and an honor to take personal responsibility for guiding my kids in their world-view. I am not so sure my kids will be “indoctrinated,” and in any case, I find that most young people are very leftist... In my case it made me a better “conservative” later.
Maybe I’ll change my mind one day, but I am not afraid of (private) schools.
My Dad, who has passed on, used to smile when I went on about leftist ideas as a teenager. He said:
“Son, if you aren’t a Democrat when you’re young, you don’t have a heart. And if you aren’t a Republican when you get a little older, you don’t have a brain.”
He let me think on that. Man, he was a great Dad.
It's already starting. Dan Patrick needs some cred after his weak-azz'd endorsement of RiNO Lt.Gov. Dewhurst in the primary against Ted Cruz (Go TED!), so he's getting active as the quotes above show.
Hopefully, he'll go all gonzo pit-bull on this and chase these people the hell across the Sabine River, and all the way back to Liberaland.
These people are demons.
Virtually everyone running the public school system is demonic.
I'm sorry, perhaps that sounded like it was said with exaggeration, or metaphorically.
