Acting Knesset head Binyamin (Fouad) Ben-Eliezer has asked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to urge United States President Barack Obama to address the Knesset during his upcoming visit to Israel.
“The nation of Israel definitely thirsts to hear the United States President speak to them directly,” he argued. “There is no more appropriate venue than the Knesset for the U.S. President to speak.”
“I believe that this act, of a direct address to Israel in the Knesset assembly… during this visit, specifically, would carry tremendous importance,” he added.
MK Reuven Rivlin, speaker of the last Knesset, agreed. “The Knesset is the arena of debate and decision-making, and as such is the only place to present diplomatic initiatives and any process with serious implications for the state of Israel,” he said.
“An appeal to the Israeli public, even from heads of friendly countries, should be made from the Knesset podium,” he said. Members of the Knesset “will doubtless know how to show respect,” he added.
The White House has confirmed that Obama is planning his first trip to Israel since being elected president in March. He will also visit Jordan and the Palestinian Authority’s seat of power in Ramallah.

“Thirsting to hear Obama speak” reminds me of an old news story, likely apocryphal, but with a happy ending.
A young criminal man decided to siphon gasoline from an RV.
When the police arrived, they found the owner of the RV unable to describe to them what had happened because he could not stop laughing.
The police deduced that the unhappy young criminal man had instead successfully siphoned a mouthful of liquid excrement from the RV’s septic tank, and was curled up in a fetal position in a pool of liquid excrement and his own vomit.
This should caution the Israelis to be less thirsty, because what Obama will have to say is basically like the contents of an RV septic tank.

Most Jews see through obamas lies. Israel has their leftests that hate their country just as America does, and it is probably those Jews who thirst for obamas visit. I know many Jews living in Israel who see right through obama just like we do.

“Most” and “Many” are two different words. Most Jews in America voted for him, just less than the usual. I know damned few Jews in Israel who are taken in by him, though.
