Obama: Salazar's family 'did not cross the border, the border crossed them'
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/6/13 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 02/06/2013 3:46:35 PM PST by Nachum

Speaking about outgoing Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, President Obama reminded reporters that the family of the former U.S. Senator from Colorado was of Spanish descendent – dating back to the 16th century. “His ancestors were living here before the Mayflower set sail,” Obama said. “As he explains it — and relevant, as we are working to get immigration reform passed — his family did not cross the border, the border crossed them. And that’s why, when I needed somebody to lead Interior, I didn’t have to look very far.”

Short answer. We don’t need anymore minorities (actually they may be the majority now) voting for traitor Obama nor do we want to have to work longer hours so you, your families, and anchor baby making machines can bleed our social services dry, bankrupt our nation, not pay into the system from which you so freely take, take away our jobs, get minority preference, and overpopulate our nation.

If Mr. Salazar’s family was living in the Southwest in 1846, there was no reason for them to pack up to move back to Mexico. They would have been far better off after being liberated by the US. If they were in Texas, that liberation came sooner.

If his family lived here in the 1500’s which I sort of doubt tho it is technically possible, they probably lived in New Mexico instead of Colorado.

The border didn’t so much change as it just had different owners.

I have always wondered how the invading hispanic peoples have somehow positioned themselves on the "victim" side of the American grievance divide.

Ken Salazar & Obozo need to remember San Jacinto.

18 minutes on April 21, 1836 that changed FOREVER 1/3 of this nation.

AND Ken Salazar & Obozo need to remember that there were BOTH Anglos and Tejanos at the Alamo and at San Jacinto.

It sounds like Salazar’s family were not Mexicans (lucky for them) in the first place. They were Spanish. Contrary to the B.S. that the Mechistas are indoctrinating in the public schools, the American southwest was never the land of the Aztecs.

There were very, very few Mexicans in California before World War II. In California the harbors, railroads, irrigation systems, aqueducts, etc. were built by Americans and Chinese before the Mexicans arrived. There were Kumeyay indians in California when the Spanish arrived (they are still here and are rich), but they were not Aztec, Mayan, or Mexican.

I saw on some website that he is a fifth-generation Coloradan, which unless his forebears had superhuman lifespans does not bring us back to the Age of Exploration.

Hanta virus did the killing ~ not anything the Spanish did. Has a 95% mortality rate ~ bad stuff.

Regarding Salazar, that's an old noble name. SAL isn't about salt, it's about SA LA or The Flag ~ for the line of march of the heavy mounted knights who fought against the Moors.

See, knowledge of a bit of Cornish is good for a man.

Now, about the Salazar family being north of today's border, there are even old Spanish families who stayed behind in what is now Virginia as the Spanish pulled out in the late 1500 to early 1600 period. One gentleman named Cruz became Crews. Today they don't know if they start with a Spaniard or an Englishman (bwahahahahaha).

American history is full of Spaniards keeping their land as the English wave swept over them, and then, taking up the American interest against the English.

Nothing wrong with having a Breton or Cornish knight in your ancestry down in El Andaluz killing Moslem invaders (took 700 years though, long fight eh).

Ken Salazar is not "Hispanic" he is a Spaniard Conquistador.

I have known people from Germany and Poland who are darker skinned than ol' Ken Salsa-Czar.

The Ruling Class in Mexico are heavily populated by "White Spaniard Conquistador" types.

The Mestizos are very heavily discriminated against IN Mexico. And the same whitey Spaniards whine when we want to deport ANY Mexican despite their background as racist? Gimme a damn break.

A lot of people immigrating across Mexico's southern border are very Mestizo and the Mexican government is very brutal with those illegals, Mexico can shut the hell up about us deporting illegals, we only deport them, we don't rob and kill them like the Mexican government does. Remind you, A Mexican government ran by "White Racist Spaniards".

My family has been in Walton County, Florida since at least the 1700’s. They probably don’t go back any further than that as they originally came to Florida from Virginia and North Carolina.

They were not Scotch Irish but mostly Highland Scots from the Western Islands. One thing I like is I can trace our family back to Charles Martel, (The Hammer), through William Byrd of Virginia. We fought Muslims way back.

My family came from Argyle, Scotland, in the 1700’s too. They spent awhile in SC before coming to what is now, Santa Rosa County, Fla., in 1819, We can trace our clan way back too.
