I do not believe America’s fate can be turned around despite all the quoting of 2nd Chronicles 7:14. That promise was to Israel.
Unfortunately, I think our fate is sealed and I don’t say that with a happy face as this disaster of an economy has been very difficult on me as well.
I think the handwriting is on the wall. Sorry to be saying such. Wish I wasn’t.
I always read your responses and enjoy them, but, in this case could this be talking about the “House of Israel”?
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Didn’t ten tribes of Israel travel over the Caucuses Mountains to settle Europe, Canada and eventually, America?
The House Of Juda represents the Jews and the House of Israel represents the Christians (”my people, which are called by my name”), or am I mistaken.
I would appreciate your take on this.
The promise is also to those who are far off - who call themselves by His Name. That was America in the beginning when we prayed down divine providence upon our nation. That has been the prayer of countless churches in America through the years.
And don't give up, even though things look bleak - God does not send a warning unless there is time to heed that warning and turn away His fury.
The actual Harbingers are God warning US. He would not be warning US still if there was no hope of turning about and following Him. The handwriting on the wall is the final judgement proclaimed (Chapter five in Daniel). The Harbingers are given so that We The People may turnabout and not fall under the final judgement.
I wish I didn't agree with you.
Zechariah 7:12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts.
13 Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts:
14 But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
For about a year I have believed that this is the time we will be referring to when those of us who survive the next several years will say wistfully to each other and to ourselves, why didn’t we get out when we still could? We saw it coming, didn’t we?
