Quans father is a retired LAPD captain, who became a lawyer, and represented Doerner in his dismissal appeal hearing at the LAPD. He was obviously not reinstated..he’s nuts, and he blames Quan ( the lawyer) for his losing the appeal case, so he must have decided to exact revenge against his lawyer.

My cousin is a retired NYPD police LT detective and practicing lawyer. Most of his clients are NYPD cops. He was “of council” in the Amadou Diallo case. The vibes I got from him, although he tried to hide his feelings, was that he held his clients in contempt. I’ve said before on this forum, to some incredulity, that he claims to never have drawn his weapon in 20 years on force, from patrolman in Harlem to Lt. Detective on the Manhattan DA’s homicide squad (sort like Law and Order).

I’d hate to see one of those nutjobs go off on him.

Okay, thanks.

I think I get it now.

Seems like Quan’s father was the lawyer who defended Doerner, and because they lost the case, Doerner decided to get revenge by killing his lawyer’s (i.e., Quan’s) daughter...?

Is that about the size of it?
