NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) — Children from Newtown who recently recorded a version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" will be singing during the Grammy Awards.

Sabrina Post, who directs the Newtown Music Project, says American Idol host Ryan Seacrest will be flying to Connecticut to do a live segment with the children on Sunday's broadcast.

Nothing like having first graders sing

Your stare was holding, ripped jeans
Skin was showing
Hot night, wind was blowing
Where you think you’re going baby?

the kids recorded "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" because they wanted to help the town heal from the tragedy

I'm sure it was the 5- and 6-year-olds that came up with this idea, the list of five or six (so far) venues from (almost literally) one corner of the country the other, and the immediacy to do these performances one right after another.

What about the ongoing Chicago slaughter? Or aren’t dead black kids useful in pushing gun control?

No way to comment at article source. Natch. I’ve also noticed new sources limiting their comments sections more and more.....or, if they have one, it’s through “Disqus”.

It’s no worse than an 8-year-old singing “Super Bass.”

I guess there’s no way for those of us that find this disgusting to have our voices heard. To me this is child abuse and they will have their lives defined by this mistreatment. The radical left wing extremist demokkkrats will have all these poor little souls further brainwashed for the rest of their lives. We’ll end up with more sandra flukes. This is NOT helping them “heal”. Their parents should be ashamed but I’m sure they’re not. After all, they’re doing “something”. And anybody that states this will be vilified and called cold hearted and uncaring. You know, conservatives (and some republicans).

Indeed! Sexual interest (in song) from the remaining Newtown innocents blasted on television sets everywhere...

Dancing on the graves of children...

Agreed.

And nothing like letting our children see that they are only one tragedy away from celebrity visits, national tours, and Super Bowl performances.
