Florida School District Might Cut All School Clubs Rather Than Approve Gay-Straight Alliance
Miami New Times ^ | 02/06/2013 | By Kyle Munzenrieder

Posted on 02/07/2013 8:21:13 AM PST by Responsibility2nd

Florida's Lake County School Board might ban all extracurricular clubs as a way to avoid having to approve the formation of a Gay-Straight Alliance. Yes, students may have to say bye-bye to their FCA, 4H, and Drama Club membership cards all because some school board members are stuck in the past.

Last year, 14-year-old Bayli Silberstein tried to start a Gay-Straight Alliance at Carver Middle School in Leesburg. Silberstein told WFTV that she was sick of her group of friends being bullied for their sexual orientation, and wanted to form the group to address the problem. But her request had been denied each and every time. So, Bayli's mother contacted the ACLU, and the group sent a letter to the school board reminding them that they've won several expensive lawsuits in the past against schools that refused to let similar groups form.

So how did the Lake County School Board react? They're thinking about just banning all clubs. From the Orlando Sentinel:

School Board members Bill Mathias, Debbie Stivender and Chairwoman Kyleen Fischer spoke in favor of a rule that would ban extra-curricular clubs in secondary schools while fellow board members Tod Howard and Rosanne Brandeburg favored banning extra-curricular clubs only in middle schools.

Fischer said the district should focus on education and that "social engineering" is not the job of the School Board. "It is not our job to socially mentor students, but to educate them," she said.

Basically, in order to comply with the federal Equal Access Act, the board is considering just cutting off everyone's access to forming groups.

Better to drop them all than to subsidise perversion.

Let the sickies meet at their local bath house.

I am sure the other groups can meet at someones home or the American legion Hall or at their local Church.

Outstanding strategy. I am amazed at the stipends the teachers receive for being the advisors to the different clubs in my school districts.

When I went to HS I knew of several openly gay/lesbian students. Even in a school that had a large portion of conservative leaning student, bullying was almost non existent. The ones that did could be counted on my hands. It wouldn’t surprise me if it is a similar situation with a few bullies and the media makes it sound like the poor student has several hundred bullies.

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to look into certain other things are are “stuck into things” that they were not designed to be stuck into.

There's a reason kids today still use phrases like, "That's so gay," as a deragatory comment. It has nothing to do with their upbringing or home environment, and certainly nothing to do with the decadent TV / movie / soundbite culture that surrounds them, a culture which tries relentlessly to brainwash them into "normalizing" homosexuality.

No. Kids understand naturally, instinctively, that there is just something sick about a man pushing a penis into another man's anus full of sh**. It's one of those things nobody needs to teach, and it is why homos instinctively feel ashamed of what they are and what they do, and why they suffer the tears of a clown as they march with fake smiles in fake "pride" parades. All the liberal propaganda in the world can't change human nature and human instinct.

Kudos to this school board for doing the right thing and not caving to the militant homosexual lobby. (By the way, how pathetic is it when people deserve congratulations for simply doing the right thing? But, here we are in Ubama's Amerika.)

Extra curricular activities are luxuries. They are not however necessary for an excellent education. HIgh academic standards in the four core subjects are.

When the LGBT agenda finds its ways into our schools the innocents are punished. The kind of societal rot they seek to legitimize is far more dangerous to our culture than not having a 4h club.

Stick to reading, writing and arithmetic and starve the ACLU of work and publicity.

PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY

O my Jesus, You said, "verily I say to you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you."  Behold, in your name I humbly ask our Heavenly Father to protect every man, woman, and child in our great nation from those who want to delete your name from our society, i.e. on our money, in our courts, and in our schools.  Protect us from plans of destruction from which our enemies have plotted.

You, Heavenly Father, are the real foundation of our nation.  I thank you for making me a citizen of this land of freedom and unlimited opportunity...which are the results of its Christian base.

Please surround and protect us, and our military with Your love and mercy...in Jesus' name.
Amen

It is incredible that in the United States today a 14 year old spiritually ill child is given such power of destruction. The adults are prematurely caving in to her “If I don’t get my way then nobody can play” attitude. I admire the board for taking a stand but why give in this early? Tell the queer club to pound sand and let the ACLU drag it to court. Then if the courts cave to immorality go ahead and cancel the other clubs. There is no need to punish the children in legitimate clubs before the battle has begun.

We had well over 2000 students in my high school. One of the kids down the street bullied one of the special ed kids. I can remember to this day Mr. Arnold the SPED teacher grabbing the bully and literally bouncing him off the wall.

Just had to do it once and the message was sent very clearly.

Yep. Let people see who these homosexuals really are. It's not tolerance they're after.

They never should have been let out of the asylums in the 1980's. It was one of the biggest mistakes this country has ever made.
It's way past time to change on our minds on that "tolerance" thing. In fact, it's time we start to rethink that asylum thing.

Just by the nature of a "gay" club indicates that advocation of sexuality, ergo underage kids are being encouraged toward sexual promiscuity. Is that not a indictable. I am not a lawyer; I just play one on TV.

Schools (and prisons) should do their best to ensure that no violence or bullying against those in their care. The message should not be "don't bully gays" but "don't bully". As for sexuality in schools, the schools should discourage all sexual activity. It will still occur, but sex shouldn't be normalized as a desirable choice at that age.

The only bullying going on here is by the perverts against the school.

A small minority of queers along with the ACLU is pushing their agenda in the face of normalcy.

And the result will be to shut down ALL the extracurricular groups.

Children sometimes behave badly, including participating in mild bullying. It should be discouraged, but kids generally learn to deal with most of it. Just part of growing up.

As to the “gay” part of this problem, I don’t think adolescents should be categorized as “gay” at this stage of their sexual development. We seem to be pushing kids at an age when they are confused about practically everything.

Years ago a group of Conservative students wanted to form a Rush Limbaugh club on a college campus. The ACLU had top drag the school into court to get the students permission to do so. It must have killed them to do so.

I disagree. My experience was that just about everyone got bullied at least a little just about every year. Those who handled it well were left alone after the first try, while those who reward the bully with a nice reward or even an entertaining show were picked on mercilessly. I disapprove of the bullying whether it is over gay, fat, glasses, or any other excuse.

I do agree that the perverts are major bullies in this case. The lesson from all bullying is never to give a bully what he/she/it (for the GLBTQ undecideds) wants. We have to make sure that the perverts do not get sympathy and positive attention, that they do get shunned by decent people, and that they never again want to provoke a fight over special treatment.

I think a lot of the “bullying” is when a perv hits on someone and gets a violent reaction. A boy grabs another boys behind or package and he gonna get the NY city beat down.

Bullying is an excuse used by homo crowd so that they can get into the school and spread their pervisions.

Basically, in order to comply with the federal Equal Access Act, ...

And there's major constitutonal problems with the federal Equal Access Act. Not only have the states never delegated to Congress the specific power to regulate public schools, but Justice John Marshall had officially taken the Founding States' division of federal and state powers a major step forward by officially clarifying the following. Justice Marshall had clarified in general that Congress is prohibited from laying taxes in the name of state power issues, issues wihch Congress cannot justify under the Constitution's Section 8 of Article I, public schooling being an example.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In other words, corrupt, gay agenda-pushing Congress is wrongly threating the loss of federal funds concerning an issue which Congress has no constitutional authority to lay taxes for in the first place.

Finally, I find it ironic that the EAA was lobbied for by religious groups who evidently didn't know about Congress's limited powers to lay taxes.

Effective bullying can be used as a deterrent to teach little faggots to stop their destructive behavior before they grow up to be sick old perverts.
