An Academy Award-winning actor and a famed stand up comedian will attend a weekend event in Miami in remembrance of Trayvon Martin, a law firm representing the slain teen's family has announced.
The Tallahassee-based Parks & Crump firm announced that Jamie Foxx and Cedric the Entertainer will attend the "Day of Remembrance Community Peace Walk and Forum," which is being hosted by foundation created by the teen's parents.
The event, which starts 10 a.m. Saturday at Ives Estate Park in Miami, will focus on "motivating youth on peaceful conflict resolutions instead of gun violence," the firm said in a statement. The following evening, the foundation plans to hold a remembrance dinner at the DoubleTree Miami Airport Hotel's convention center.
Foxx won an Oscar for his role as Ray Charles in the 2004 biopic "Ray," and is also a singer-songwriter and comedian. Cedric the Entertainer is famed for his stand up comedy, as well as numerous roles in television and movies.
Trayvon was fatally shot by George Zimmerman in a Sanford townhouse community on Feb. 26. Prosecutors say Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder, profiled and killed the teen. Zimmerman says he fired in self defense.

Trayvon Martin HoodRat Day..
Another “peace walk”? Every peace walk article on FR turned into a whitey bashfest. No thanks. I’ll just eat my Skittles.
Where are the Skin Heads when you really need them?
Any one making a guess on the amount of property damage incurred by this “Peace” march?
I wonder if Crump and Dee Dee be there?
Someone in FL please start a counter march in favor of George Zimmerman day.
Will racist Congresscritter Fredericka Wilson be there:
“Today, Trayvon Martin would have celebrated his 18th birthday. We all know the tragic circumstances surrounding his murder: Trayvon was racially profiled, chased, made to fight for his life, and ultimately murdered. Yet we as a nation have yet to take substantive action to stop such a heartbreaking incident from happening again.”
Will they be there???
If not -- then why not???
I hope they put their money where their mouth is.
It was just yesterday in a GZ thread that I wrote about the “unbelievably vast and uncompromising network of fascists” allied against GZ. In addition to the corrupt Florida legal system, he’s battling every black racist entertainer, every black racist politician, every black racist “community organizer” and their organizations, every black racist “preacher” and their organizations — and that’s just a start.
It’s a low information voter parade.
I got $10 that says violence breaks out at the Peace Walk.
How often do you think about race? Oscar winner Jamie Foxx says that he thinks about it all the time. He stars in Quentin Tarantino’s slavery revenge film “Django Unchained,” which debuts on Christmas. Promoting the film in a Vibe magazine interview, along with co-stars Kerry Washington and Leonardo DiCrapio, Foxx said that black people are always sensitive about race.
“I come into this place to do a photo shoot and they got Ritz crackers and cheese,” he said. “I’ll be like, ain’t this a b-—h. Y’all didn’t know black people was coming. What’s with all this white s—t? By the same token, if there is fried chicken and watermelon I’ll say ain’t this a b—h? So, no matter what we do as black people it’s always gonna be that. Every single thing in my life is built around race.” Foxx added that while he contemplates race often, he doesn’t always voice his thoughts.
I’m not sure I like the example Foxx used, but I think he has a point. If you’re a person of color in the United States it can be quite difficult to determine if someone is treating you a certain way because of race. If I feel that someone is being condescending or dismissive of me, I do wonder if the behavior is race-based. Like Foxx said, however, I don’t verbalize these thoughts and I don’t think most black people do unless the behavior is blatantly racist or they’ve been repeatedly slighted.
THIS GARBAGE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A RACIST..
