Michelle Obama will attend Saturday's funeral for Hadiya Pendleton, the Chicago teen killed not long after performing at President Obama's inauguration, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Alongside Obama will be adviser Valerie Jarrett and Education Secretary Arne Duncan, also Chicagoans, reports the Tribune. No arrests have been made in the shooting, but a $40,000 reward remains. Police think the 15-year-old got shot accidentally amid a turf war between gangs.

500+ murders in Chicago the past couple years....and now, in the wake of Newtown, the pretenders act like they care.
Meanwhile, they enjoy the protection of armed weaponry.
It’s all part of the never-ending campaign. And of course, always doing whatever benefits them personally.
If you were in Chicago for this funeral....there would be a curious thing that you’d notice...a massive police presence within four to six blocks of the funeral. At the end of the funeral....everyone will back off, and the threat of violence will return to normal.
Sad she died. Prayers for the family. Senseless tragedy. They probably won’t find out who killed her. The First Lady must have known the family.
Of course this is a photo-op for Wide Load, but it is 99% better than the others she has gone on.
Perhaps by some weird stroke she can at least stop the shootings for a couple of hours while there.
I can actually see some purpose in this one.
I agree with the sentiment, though would have heard if MO knew her family.
The primary purpose is to advance the gun control push. If BO and his cabal were somehow “sincere” about the family’s pain, they would make their condolences in private—like George W Bush did when he visited soldiers and their families....very few public “look at me” events were attended by him.
$40K and they won’t give anybody up.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Goldman donated $6,900 to Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, yet it is unclear whether Mrs. Obama pays for her services.”
