Police Helicopter Lands to Harass Woman For Her Papers
Activist Post ^ | Feb. 8, 2013 | YouTube

See the Video on YouTube

Does this make you feel safe?

6 heavily armed officers of the state - overpaid, and awaiting fat pensions - circle and harass a sweet lady out in the desert collecting rocks.

The use of a $5-8million helicopter that costs about $2000 per hour to fly, the six overpaid donut munchers inside and the illegal search of an innocent, harmless lady out collecting rocks is a travesty of justice and the American way.

What have they done to our country? Do you feel safe now?

On a brighter note, at least they didn't shoot her because they thought she might have looked a bit like Christopher Dorner.

They already shot three innocent citizens with that line.

I'll betcha that helicopter is fully equipped with the latest FLIR technology and every kind of radar and contraption they need to hunt humans.

Thank goodness they stopped that diabolical Tiffany Jones in her quest for rocks - God knows what could have happened had these highly trained and heavily armed, vigilant public servants not intervened.

Yesterday: complain about lax border security.

Today: freak out over a police state in the desert.

Tomorrow: Forget all about the freedom we are giving up to gain security and return to complaining about lax border security.

Six armed officers? I saw only one, and he seemed to be polite and professional. Could he be checking out people that are helping the rogue cop? Is there another crime being investigated in the area?

This is a mixed video.

It is unclear to me why the cop stopped in the first place. Was she on someone’s land?

The cop asks her is she has something (a permit?) and then radios in her info to a dispatcher.

He finds out she had a prior weapons charge of some sort (she says “a long time ago”).

He then begins searching her w/o her consent. I think he was intimidated by her taping video of the incident.

When you posted this and stated that she was being harrassed b/c she was picking up rocks, I thought this was the Paleontological Protection Act in action. That law forbids collection of vertebrate fossils on public land - makes it a federal Felony, in fact.

A brave new world we live in. ‘Pod

Of all the people in that helicopter, the only one to get out was the pilot ... what were the rest of those guys doing? Just soaking up flight time?

6 heavily armed officers of the state

I only counted one polite officer but then again, I never was very good at arithmetic.........

A chick and her friend walking around in the California desert.......I can think of three possibilities:

1. They might be illegals (from the air they all look alike)

2. They might be looking for a drug drop....

3. They're picking up rocks......

Since the first two never occur in California, the Sheriff should have automatically assumed the third and ignored them.............

I am confused. Is this area close to the Mexican border? Are we concerned about border security or would we prefer no one be needlessly stopped and identity requested? I don’t see how one can be for greater border security (i.e. stop the illegals) and at the same time against someone being stopped and asked for id (i.e. police state). You can’t have it both ways, can you?

...or they have orders to keep the public, within a certain radius, away from ‘something’.

Anything is possible with this criminal regime.

Did you hear what the officer said when she asked "is there a reason you're stopping us?" He said "we're investigating something.

It may have been related to the LAPD Killer Cop manhunt, or it could have been something else, but no, the officers were not out on a joyride in Uncle Sugar's helicopter and decided to harass an innocent rock hound.

Hopefully with sequestration, the Feds won't be able to afford to buy new Jackboots for their thugs.

So do we want them to crack down on illegals or not?

That law forbids collection of vertebrate fossils on public land - makes it a federal Felony, in fact.

It makes sure they become crumbling fragments in washes and creekbeds instead of maybe being collected and preserved for study later, or inspiring a youngster to become a scientist...

You need to start a running count of the Big Government Statist replies on this thread.

Here's one: Six armed officers? I saw only one, and he seemed to be polite and professional. Could he be checking out people that are helping the rogue cop? Is there another crime being investigated in the area?

I think that all the houses in North Dakota should be searched for Christopher Dorner, because there's a crime being investigated in the area (California is near North Dakota - at least nearer than, say, Connecticut...).

:-)

If we had a secure border, Americans like this woman would be able to go about their business unmolested by the authorities.

...Which explains why we don’t have a secure border.

This is San Bernardino County, just East of Los Angeles. It is enormous, stretching due East to the border with Arizona, and North, almost to the Nevada border and Las Vegas.

20,000 square miles. And with most people in the southwest corner of the county. Way too much desert with few roads to be patrolled on the ground.

http://www.sbcounty.gov/Main/images/Homepage/county_road_map.gif

If someone is out in the desert, while they may be there for some nefarious purpose or not, even in a case like this, where the woman was in seeing distance of a highway, that may be too far for them to hike.

And that desert kills people if given half a chance.

Wasn't even the pilot. In a helicopter the pilot sits in the right seat. He was the observer.

4. Burying a body.

I don’t have a problem with him landing and asking questions but if he determined she wasn’t doing anything illegal then it’s time to move on.
