Chicago murder rate far worse since strict gun control
Washington Times ^ | February 4, 2013 | Jessica Chasmar

Chicago’s murder rate is far worse now than it was during the city’s most notorious crime era, Al Capone’s “gangland,” when gun-control laws hardly existed, ABC reports.

Leading up to the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, there were 26 killings in January 1929. Yet, 42 people were killed in Chicago last month, catching the attention of Chicagoans, the White House and politicians nationwide.

If the current murder rate continues, February 2013 will far exceed February 1929, when there were 26 killings, including the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.

Because the only ones being ‘CONTROLLED’ are the LAW ABIDING CITIZENS!!!

The idiots doing the shooting (obama’s supporters) don’t bother with things like ‘the law’... Kinda taking their lead from HIM, huh?

And the ballarina dances and points fingers. Black on black crime dead silence even from the slave masters, the hypocritical NAACP and the black congressional caucus.

Ms. Chasmar badly needs an editor for her writing; FTA:

The first national firearms act, which wasn’t signed until 1934, required approval of the local police chief, federally registered fingerprints, federal background check and a $200 tax, ABC reports. However, gun control ceased to exist during Mr. Capone’s heyday in the Roaring ‘20s

What did the NFA require approval for? She doesn't say. The next sentence says "gun control ceased to exist during Mr. Capone's heyday," thereby contradicting the earlier point that it didn't exist at all in Chicago at that time.

There is a strange anomaly in the thoughts and actions in Chicago and nationally.

The hue and cry is against assault rifles. That is, the alarm is in opposition to weapons that can be used to kill at long range. Strangely, that is not reality.

A prudent killer would find a position removed from the street corner where the enemy is selling drugs on the desired turf to be encroached. The offender and cohorts could be taken out at long range with a few shots from an indeterminable distant secure site. The rifle is the superior weapon for the gang wars but is shunned.

Rather than safely kill, the philosophy is kill...... and be killed.

then come the white liberal wackos yelling Blame the assault Rifle, blame the magazine. Never is the mantra...... blame the macho negro stupidly brandishing the 9

And the population was higher in 1929 than it is today (3.3M vs. 2.7M).

when gun-control laws hardly existed

I am not defending the author, but the ABC statement she quoted said it "hardly existed". As I understand it, the 1934 law controlled "fully automatic" weapons. Hence the background check and tax. The current gun control laws in Chicago are clearly unconstitutional, but I am not sure that the courts will rule it so. A lawsuit over this will come, if the nation does not collapse first.

Why focus on assault rifles? We are facing a force reduction and return home of our soldiers in the Middle East. Would that frighten the Commie Dems to face angry soldiers who have weapons they know how to use effectively?

What they are doing has a purpose, it is not what they say it is.

The inner city is not the woods or jungle. Nearly every inch is controlled by some group and fighting your way to and establishing a hide might be a major battle in itself.

Those who understand the difference between good man with a gun and bad man with a gun have no problem understanding why.
The others will never get it, they refuse to get it.

Why? People are tired of living in the mind set of the great demokrats’ reallity.
