President Obama will map out the contours of his second-term agenda when he speaks to the nation in his State of the Union address on Tuesday night. In a speech meant to build on his second inaugural address — which was directed at the Democratic base and served as a bookend of sorts to his reelection campaign— Obama will put details on the far-reaching government agenda he hopes will become part of his legacy.
The economy will remain Topic A, and Obama’s speech is expected to warn of the danger automatic spending cuts known as the sequester pose to a slowly improving economy. At the same time, Obama will give due weight to other priorities such as immigration and gun control. Obama has newfound freedom to be more combative, not to mention left-leaning, because he doesn’t face reelection, but he simultaneously needs to define goals that are capable of attracting majority support.

Amnesty for illegals and gun control voters in congress will be out of a job ASAP in next elections. Re sequester, US government should halt all spending, reassess necessities and proceed with the bare minimum. USA is broke.
Anyone actually believe there will be any details? He never gets into details he just hands off that hard work to a kool aid drinking lackey.
But we all know that he won't mention any of that.
I wish to God when Obama lies about HIS sequester (i.e. the Obama Sequester), the Republicans would walk out of the room.
Or at the first lie, then Obama could preach to the choir. I’m not watching it anyway, he makes me nauseas.

Actually, he says frequently that the American people want this or that. His fraudulent re-election has assured him that whatever his agenda, everyone is in favor of it. And I'm sure his true believers believe it. Trouble is, they don't know what that agenda really is. And when they find out how that agenda adversely impacts their lives, it will be too late.

I would love to see the speaker, of course this will not happen with the gonadless current speaker, announce at the end of his excellency’s sermon that the house is not in recess, for the speaker to yell out to the sergeant at arms to bar egress to anyone and for him to deliver a point by point litany of each lie his excellency has stated. His “state of the union” is nothing more than a political rant so make it so and fire back. Rubio can then issue the coup de grace.
There will be no details. Only rhetoric, condescension and insults.

“We have a mandate. (He wishes. By that I mean “man date” like he did in the old days.) The people have spoken and this is what they want. In my second term...............” I guess I’ll be able to have a nice meal that night since hussein isn’t going to make me nauseous since I won’t be watching. Not sure if I even care to hear the Repubs response either. Kind of like a two headed coin. Someone needs to step up and tell it like it really is. Good luck with that. I want a CINC that’ll will uphold the constitution and bill of rights as he/she is sworn to. I swore to protect and defend 45 years ago and I still hold myself to that oath.
