Obama predicts Pelosi will be speaker again soon
Washington Post ^ | 2/07/13 | Ed O'Keefe

Posted on 02/09/2013 11:48:48 AM PST by Libloather

President Obama predicted Thursday that if Democrats pursue an ambitious agenda, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will soon have the speaker’s gavel back.

“It won’t be smooth, it won’t be simple, there will be frustrations, there will be times when you guys will be mad at me, and I’ll occasionally read about it.” he said. But if they keep focused, he said, ”I would expect that Nancy Pelosi is going to be speaker again pretty soon.”

But the president also appeared to be steeling House Democrats — who are more liberal than their Senate counterparts — for the need to remain open to concessions to moderate Democrats and Republicans not as eager to engage on the two domestic issues likely to dominate his State of the Union address next week — immigration and gun-control.

"Nancy Pelousy will be the next Speaker."

From Obama's purple lips to God's ears. It's in the bag.

Oh, wait....she IS the bag.

Has anyone noticed that with all the ethics charges coming out against national-level democrats, there haven’t been any notable charges against national-level Republicans? Wonder if some “Let’s Make A Deal” has been going on? What’s it to an ambitious Republican if his party is in the majority, as long as his ability to wheel and deal behind closed doors goes unheeded and his bank account gets fatter? They have dropped CommieCare as if they consider it a done deal. They cave on the budget. Just enough are always peeled off to pass things near and dear to the left’s heart.

We're a MarxoFascist State now folks, the longer it takes for us to wake up to this reality, the more Americans are going to be wiped out by this regime

I have no doubt that is true. After all, didn't that dirt bag friend of Obama, say about 25 million Americans need to be killed before a complete communist takeover can happen? I still remember that fat, bald Russian, bang his shoe on the table, and say they would bury us. I didn't realize at the time, that the "burying" would come from within.

If this all leads to Pelosi getting the gavel back then we may as well just shut the whole thing down. Because at that point, we’ve failed to keep our Republic.

Exactly. With Bonehead and Cantor running the house, yeah, I can believe it. I know I’m done voting for the GOP.

“He may well know what he’s talking about. The fraud machine was finely honed in the presidential election.”

Exactly- The fraud on the democrat side is wholly massive.

For me, all politics are local. I have an excellent GOP rep in Pete Olson (Tom Delay's old seat) and we just elected Ted Cruz in the senate. Bonehead and Cantor will not dissuade me from supporting good Texans in government.

Let’s see, that will make Miz Nancy 74 when she takes over the speaker’s gavel again. Maybe she can keep going for years, to the point where, either through continued plastic surgery and botox in order not to look like Helen Thomas or doing nothing and eventually coming to look like Helen Thomas, she can do for the legislative branch what fair Helen did for journalism in this country. Helen helped by example and longevity to turn journalism into an institution meant to represent only one political viewpoint and thus channel thinking in this country. Nancy can set as her goal to do likewise for law making. We’ll all be better off for it, won’t we.

Perhaps one day all will rejoice as huge portraits of Helen and Nancy and Barack are being carried in festive procession down Pennsylvania Avenue much as similar portraits were carried in processession on the cobblestones between the Kremlin and the G.U.M. department store opposite. And just remember, should you live to see that day, clap, smile, look enthusiastic ... you are being observed.

Yep, and Boehner can serve as her campaign manager.

No doubt it will be portraits in one hand, and little red books in the other.

If the pubbies give in to their inner Rovian madness and blow conservatives off, this is likely true. And I can’t see that it will make a whole lot of difference.

[[ But if they keep focused, he said, ”I would expect that Nancy Pelosi is going to be speaker again pretty soon.” ]]

I’d predict that the chances are at least 50/50 that he’s right.

The conventional wisdom is that the party of the president always loses seats in the midterm elections. But the concept of “conventional wisdom” is based upon a “foundation of assumptions” that is literally shifting beneath us.

Remember last October, when every pundit on Fox News was touting how no president with an economic record as bad as Obama’s had ever been re-elected? Well, what happened next?

The Republicans did pretty well in 2010, but things have changed even in two short years. The Pubbies were blunderbussed this past election, and during the time since have shown little to demonstrate that they’ve recovered or learned anything from the experience. Indeed, they seem to be in a “rush to the left” in a frantic attempt to prove (only to themselves) that they remain relevant as a national party.

Whether that is true, we’ll find out in two more years...
