CHEYENNE, Wyo. Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Saturday night that President Barack Obama has jeopardized U.S. national security by nominating substandard candidates for key cabinet posts and by degrading the U.S. military.
The performance now of Barack Obama as he staffs up the national security team for the second term is dismal, Cheney said in comments to about 300 members of the Wyoming Republican Party.
Cheney, a Wyoming native, said it was vital to the nations national security that good folks hold the positions of secretary of state, CIA director and secretary of defense.
Frankly, what he has appointed are second-rate people, he said.

It’s wonderful-and sad. His political career is over and there are no elected ones to carry the torch.
What he say is, of course, absolutely true.
To destroy a first rate country (or company) you need second rate people.
Everything is going according to plan.
In my business consulting, I suggest that a company's rewards programs need to do three things - Retain the best talent, drive the right performance and be affordable. Most companies do two. The best do all three. 0bama scores a perfect ZERO - the wrong people doing the wrong things and going bankrupt, all at the same time. A disaster hatrick, which convinces me that is his plan.
Kerry, Hagel, Brennan
I wouldn’t let any of the three of them guard my lunch.
You sum it up perfectly.
Obama isn’t interested in candidates who can actually do the job. He just wants people who share in and will effectively promote his ideology.
A second rate cabinet for a second rate president. It fits.

Well stated.
I’m sure you would rate O as the zero he is as regards delivery against plan..
Everything about Obama is substandard. He has no idea what state he’s in aside from confusion.
To be fair, I wouldn't trust Chris Christy either, although for different reasons.
The facts are there are NO good people on the left, but even the better ones of that bunch DO NOT CARE TO SERVE in an Obama regime.
That leaves him with little more than members of the Senate and THIRD RATE people to pick from ~ and he hasn't got a clue.
The man is stupid.
People who are on food stamps, pay little if any federal taxes, own no property, run no business's and really don't have a dog in the fight except to live large in freedom....they don't care about America...this is the Obama base and they elected this Marxist.
Yes, as an American he is substandard....but I doubt there is any confusion about what this Marxist is trying to do to America...he knows exactly what he is doing...his mindless base elected his color as they thought he was one of them and they are living well on other people's money/backs.
Not sure he knows exactly what he is doing. He repeats his mistakes (solor bail outs) three times.
True he is pushing for socialism and big gov but he’s confused in so many ways,he’s to the point of just doing stupid things.
Hah ... too funny

That Dick Cheney?
Personally, I'm Grateful that his "conservative" political career as a RINO is Dead...
Biography
Born in Sublette County, Wyoming, Barlow attended elementary school in a one-room schoolhouse. He was a student at the Fountain Valley School in Colorado. There Barlow met Bob Weir, who would later join the music group the Grateful Dead. Weir and Barlow maintained contact throughout the years; a frequent visitor to Timothy Leary's facility in Millbrook, New York, Barlow introduced the musical group to Leary in 1967...
Politics
Barlow is a former chairman of the Sublette County Republican Party and served as western Wyoming campaign coordinator for Dick Cheney during his 1978 Congressional campaign.[7]

...and maybe heartless progressive RINOs whose careers were spawned from psychedlic glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
So, is what he said that this news story is about wrong?

That’s quite a stretch. I hope you didn’t hurt yourself.
“Dick Cheney blasts President Obamas second-rate national security team”
“Second rate?” Nonsense.
Obama’s security team would have to climb a whole lotta rungs on the “rate latter” before they got anywhere near “second”...
As I just commented on another thread, the choice of Hagel is significant of what Obama thinks of national defense.
Cheney, on the other hand, wants good folks in DoD because he thinks our national defense is worth something.
Cheney also feels our COUNTRY is worth defending, instead of trying to fundamentaly transform it into something else.
I love that photo. Bush is being polite, but Cheney ... well, one look really does say a thousand words, doesn’t it?
Cheney, whose team saw non-existent mushroom clouds, ruined the Bush Presidency and put an anchor around the neck of the GOP.
Dick Cheney may be wrong if he adheres to the sodomy issue, but other wise he is right on ¡
Christy: Got any fried chicken?
Mrs. Murphy: Best damn chicken in the state.
Christy: Bring me four fried chickens and a Coke.
Mrs. Murphy: You want chicken wings or chicken legs?
Christy: Four fried chickens and a Coke.
Take a hike. Yeah, Cheney IS wrong on that issue. He has done more good for the conservative cause than 99% of us. And he has been vilified for it.
Not every person is right about every issue all the time.
...has jeopardized U.S. national security by nominating substandard candidates for key cabinet posts and by degrading the U.S. military.
What a load of horse shit.
LOL.
Cheney, the dick that is, gave us recession, endless war causalities, a broken GOP and took out Iraq the enemy of Iran in a phony mushroom seeking war.
I tend to agree. I once thought a lot of Dick. But, after years of being able to look back on him, read his book, etc., I have changed my opinion of him. I could not even finish reading his book and “donated” it too Good Will to get rid of it.
What have you done for the Country? Stop the bellyaching and make some sense. There are plenty of people to fault in just the DemocRAT Party alone.
A third rate president with a second rate staff appointment. Where have we seen this before - A third world country. America has become a Banana Republic. It is sad when you have a dark complexion as a president the country ends up in the toilet. Sad times for America with leadership that is not even qualified to be a dog catcher.
>>He has done more good for the conservative cause
For the Fiscal “Conservative” facade maybe, but for actual conservation of traditional American values, he and his rail-klan are a self-evident FAIL.
Just like the inbred AKSARBEN crowd out in Omaha.

Do you trust your life with the NorthKoreans or the Paks?
Agree he’s cluless on so many points it’s what makes him so dangerous.
