Hopelessly Naive Hayes: End War On Terror, Declare Ourselves 'At Peace'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Suppose our enemies declared war on us—and we didn't show up? In a variation on the pacifist line from the 60s, that's essentially what Chris Hayes has proposed as American policy.

On his MSNBC show this morning, the hopelessly naive Hayes suggested that rather than debating "big war"—boots on ground—versus "small war"—targeted strikes—we go for a third option "no war." In Hayes's fantasy-land, America declares the war on terror over and "declares itself at peace."

“Suppose our enemies declared war on us—and we didn’t show up?”

-Chris Hayes, ever hear of the TWIN TOWERS in NYC??? THAT’S what it looks like when our enemies declare war on us... REAL people die. YOUR family, YOUR friends, YOUR neighbors and co-workers.
Well, that last one doesn’t seem so bad to me... ;-)

This makes about as much sense as the “single sheet of toilet paper” suggestion made a couple of years ago. Liberalism IS a mental disease.

Isn’t that what Hussein is already doing?

Hey Chris! So when the islamists do the US version of Beslan on the USA, dwarfing the death and mayhem of Sandy Hook, with many hundreds of children killed, do we still "not show up" to the war?

It's amazing how leftists believe that "violence never solved anything," when history (and REALITY) shows just the opposite.

islamists and other terrorists see lack of response as weakness, and that just revs them up!

Mark

I kinda agree with him.

We fought much larger and more powerful enemies in World War II and it took a mere four years to beat them into utter, unconditional submission. We fought it to win. Our political leadership has forgotten how to do that.

We’ve been at war for over 11 years now. It’s been this long because the military is not allowed to fight to win. So there is no point in endangering any more troops if they’re not allowed to win. All that is being accomplished is wasting the lives of the best young men America has to offer.

Of course there's just one litle problem with Hayes's pacifist panacea: we can declare ourselves "at peace." Al qaeda and other terrorist groups surely won't.

Mohammedans declared war on us with the fatwas of 1996 and 1998.We are still at war. But that doesn't matter to libtards, because they will do anything to make themselves feel good, even if it means evasion of reality.

Kind of like how France decided it didn’t need to fight the Nazis...

“What, people ask, is the alternative to small war, if not big war?

There are other alternatives: Massacre, subjugation, tyranny, etc.
