Leftists of all stripes fear the military. It is a natural political law. When in power they work hard to neutralize the military, emasculate it, until they feel they have staffed it with 100% "reliable" officers and have the units infected with political officers who do not answer to the formal command structure whose job it is to stab erring officers in the back and eliminate unreliable toops. Even then leftists do not trust the military and the leaders always have another quasi military built up to do the real tasks of the leftist rulers. The Soviets had the MVD and the KGB. Hitler had his SS. Achmedinejad has his QUDS. The military is kept at arms length even while maintained in existence as the force that must be called on to actually deal with other countries' militaries.

O'Lenin does not trust the military and has emasculated it with his admittance of open homosexuals and weakened it by placing women in combat. He is purging the officer corps just as Clinton, another Leftist, did and as Carter did. He fears the military will intervene against him. That fear is surely misplaced but he is a Leftist and cannot shake it.
