Dick Durbin Admits the Obama Sequestration Was “Designed as a Budget Threat, Not a Budget Strategy”

Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) admitted to David Gregory on Meet the Press today that the Obama sequestration plan was just a political game and was never intended to move forward.

“David, sequestration was designed as a budget threat, not as a budget strategy. And, I think all of us understand that if it goes forward in less than three weeks it’s going to have a dramatic negative impact on several agencies.”

It’s working perfectly to plan, no doubt.

I love to watch as the socialist elitist piss themselves over NOT being able to spend other people's hard earned tax dollars!!!!

Looks like another “threat” has backfired in their face, but, the old media propagandist and the GOP RINO’s will turn it around and hang it on the tea party, and extremist conservatives in the US House of Representatives and the low information (moochers) will believe it and the establishment being lead by RINO Karl Rove will cave and give the socialist what they want behind closed doors with a big fat sloppy kiss on the mouth and a pat on their backsides!!!!

Duh.....Now Obama will save us by adding a 1% surtax to every bracket which will not be counted as "raising taxes".

We knew this before Durbin said it. Geeeeez...

Zero and the 0bamunists need to own this one...lock, stock, and barrel (please forgive the firearms reference, LOL).

The sequestration was his idea and it needs to happen. People need to see that cutting to budgetary levels of just a few years ago will NOT destroy the country, although it may cripple the government (not a bad idea, IMO).

That is BS.Sequestration was meant as a win/win plan which is on the road to winning/winning. It would either cut back the military which is WIN for the Left or it would get acquiescence from the Republican section of the Democrat Party which would also be a WIN. If Sequestration actually happens, the military gets weakened and the Republicans get blamed. That is why it is proclaimed now to be all just a tactic.

Let the Sequester go through. Then the House can pass a stand alone funding bill to restore the military portion. Make the Dems either pass it or let them go into the mid terms refusing to fully fund the DOD.

Heh. I love this.

The blame is not important.

It took two parties working together to get us here. And the fact that there are only hard ways out is just beginning to dawn on both parties.

Please help clarify the issue and irritate libs by calling it by its correct name: The Obama Sequester, or Obama’s Sequester.

Durbin’s right. They expected the Republicans to blink on the defense cuts. The trouble is, North Korea’s ICBM threatens the caliphate, so Obama needs more defense money. When even Ted Kopel and Bob Woodward talk about these being the most perilous times for America that they can remember, it becomes clear that Obama’s jihad is provoking interest in unexpected quarters.

I am watching the talking heads on TV. They always ask the same question of the Republicans: "what are the political implications of the sequester?"

I never hear the correct answer which would be something like: "The political implications are irrelevant compared to the implications for the future of the country."
The deficit spending and the national debt are pushing the nation into financial meltdown which will take down the world financial markets .

Very good idea. I had not heard that before. Love the Sequestration now. Close down Obie’s Gobmint and start over. In the same vain, can’t congress refuse to fund ObieCare?

And the idiotic GOP Congressional leaders bought in.

Way back they should have just shut down the government and held the debt ceiling and said, “What are you going to do about? Cut hard or no deals.”

Not our spineless jelly fish in congress. Nope. They have to ask “how high” every time Obama says “jump”.
