First they came up with a cell phone that flips open, just like the communicator on star trek. Then they invented the taser that can stun somebody just like the phasers on that show. Now they're making a better than average attempt at inventing the replicator. I swear I can't keep up anymore.

There's a list somewhere out on the net that documents the dupes and realities of Star Trek gadgets

Ray Bradbury and others would be amazed with ASIMO

Harcourt Fenton “Harry” Mudd was on a planet of beautiful androids, at the end left surrounded by multiple android copies of his shrill ex-wife in one episode of Star Trek. So there’s good and bad in replicating!

“Then they invented the taser that can stun somebody just like the phasers on that show.”

Try the movie THX 1138.

They had robotic police using cattle prods on the humans. That’s what tasers are - cattle prods for humans.
