The Navy SEAL Team Six "shooter" who put two rounds into Osama bin Laden's forehead May 2, 2011, is jobless, struggling to pay basic bills and has been offered no protection from the retaliation he anticipates from al Qaeda, according to his first interview.
Only described as "the shooter" by Esquire, he also charges that the SEAL who recently wrote a book about the raid, celebrated in the new movie Zero Dark Thirty, wrongly took credit for killing the 9/11 mastermind. The shooter said that the other SEAL simply shot the corpse of bin Laden in the chest.
The long article in the upcoming magazine said that the shooter came forward to talk about the raid to bring attention to the lack of support offered by the Pentagon or administration for troops once they come home.

Says he is worried about his family’s safety.
I always believed, that the best way to stay safe and stay out of trouble was keep your piehole shut. I would think that SEALs had a code for this type thing.
Since he is effectively anonymous, I am suspicious since he offers no form of evidence.

1. No Easy Day author said that the point man shot Bin Laden. That he only shot a convulsing body afterwards. Is the author of the article lying on purpose?
2. The Navy SEAL is not alone, nor abandoned. The SEAL community is legendary for its assistance with time, cash, and job opportunities - and protection, if needed.

He also could have gone through a med board to try to get retirement, even at 16 years if his injuries made him unfit service. Husband had 18 years and 6 months in, went through a med board for his injuries and was medically retired as he was no longer fit for service. The threshold is only 30% in order to receive retirement benefits, which includes tricare for the family. Hell, he could have claimed PTSD alone and would have a gotten a minimum of a 50% rating (albeit not a permanent one...those guys get put on the temporary disabled retired list and are re-evaled every 18 months I think) due to a class action lawsuit.
See, that’s the thing VA disability doesn’t cover the family. I don’t understand why he didn’t go for a med board or just hang out till he hit 20 and he would have gotten full benefits potentially through a med board or would have gotten them by waiting till he hit 20.
I love how they try to pull on the heart strings by talking about his pension. So why didn’t he stay in for 20? Did he get kicked out on a medical?

The opportunities on post to find a job, the resume writing classes, the jobs fairs, the counseling... There is a ton of help for getting an outside job. And a Seal? These guys are snatched up.

If it was medical reasons, he would have gone through a med board. The threshold is 30% disabled to receive full retirement benefits. I know the disability rating math is crazy, but if he has all the injuries he’s claiming, he might have reached that 30%. Some died in that weird helicopter accident, which has never been fully explained. I don't blame this guy for being afraid for his family. Obama has a lot of Muslim sympathizers in top cabinet posts and trying to get more installed.

The guy who wrote the book did not tae credit and said he shot OBL in the chest while he was on the floor. Don’t know what this guy is talking about
