The company, based in Purchase, N.Y., is hoping to boost sales by reaching Mountain Dew fans at a new time of day: morning.

Then she would come to work and drink a can of Coke and eat a Twinkie for her breakfast.

Breakfast of Champions.

In college, I thought that Mountain Dew was a morning drink...

And for me, Diet Mt. Dew still is. Never liked coffee and I'm not a fan of hot tea, either.

About a year ago I became one of those annoying loose tea drinkers. Much more pretentious.

Dare I say, that it makes you a "hipster".

When I was in Army aviation, it was said that a Mountain Dew, candy bar & cigarette was a real helicopter pilot’s complete & balanced breakfast.

IIRC, Jolt Cola was introduced just as the disastrous New Coke came out. The former’s sales soared.

My hipster cred is damaged due to the fact I put the tea in a reusable “k cup” and run it through a Kuerig coffee maker instead of using an infuser.

Indeed. The recent announcement of canned scotch goes together with this bit of news, hand-in-glove.

Do I remember an add encouraging us to drink Dr. Pepper hot?

I remember that when I was a kid. My aunt made a cup for me. Think of sweet hot tea with a hardly noticeable touch of prune juice added.
