FBI: Calif. Man Hoped to Incite ‘Civil War’ by Framing ‘Anti-Government’ Right-Wing Groups

Federal agents arrested 28-year-old California native Matthew Aaron Llaneza on Friday after he allegedly attempted to detonate what he thought was a car bomb outside a Bank of America in Oakland, according to the FBI. Llaneza, a Taliban sympathizer, plotted to blame the attack on right-wing, anti-government groups in a bid to incite a “civil war.”

“Llaneza’s arrest was the culmination of an undercover operation during which he was closely monitored by the FBI’s South Bay Joint Terrorism Task Force. Unbeknownst to Llaneza, the explosive device that he allegedly attempted to use had been rendered inoperable by law enforcement and posed no threat to the public. Llaneza was charged this morning by criminal complaint with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction against property used in an activity that affects interstate or foreign commerce,” according to an FBI press release.

Prior to his arrest, Llaneza met with a man he thought was connected with the Taliban and the mujahidin in Afghanistan — though he was actually an undercover FBI agent. The terrorist suspect suggested carrying out an attack against a bank in the San Francisco Bay Area using a car bomb. He planned to carry out the false flag attack and make it appear as if “the responsible party was an umbrella organization for a loose collection of anti-government militias and their sympathizers.”

We must be aware of the possibility of false flags. Most intelligence operations are false flag operations.

In the 1960's, the wisdom was that if you are in a group, the person who is advocating most strongly for illegal activity is the government agent provocateur.

” plotted to blame the attack on right-wing, anti-government groups in a bid to incite a “civil war.” “

Hey, Chuck Manson thought of that first! A slight difference, Chuck thought that blacks would be blamed for the Family’s murders and THAT would set off a “race war”.

Are they sure they’re not talking about Christopher Dorner trying to incite ‘Civil War’ from the Left?

He’s actually from Arizona and was in the Marines and then convicted of some assault rifle transgression (and ID’d as a crazy nut case)before being entrapped by the FBI.

Only difference between Manson and these wackos is that now they are being encouraged by the rhetoric of the federal and state governments.

lol Maybe! But that sort of thing typically does not work. McVeigh had similar thoughts- after Ruby Ridge, then Waco, he thought that flattening half a building would touch it off.

The Boston Massacre, though, was a cleverly set up, executed, and publicized event that DID kick things off. The key is publicized, lots of people with presses spread the (carefully crafted) story of the Massacre and it influenced public opinion.

Nice. Asshats. So they were arguing to create crimes that might never otherwise have occurred so they could arrest the "perpetrators". Sounds like entrapment to me.

Its gonna have to be a leftard because right wingers wouldn’t accept explosives from a stranger.

They couldn’t get the Hutaree to buy explosives or anything and they still spent up to two years in jail before they were acquitted.

The press would have run hard with that story.

Have these clowns caught a real terrorist yet?
Every “operation” they have the audacity to publicize consists of duping and entraping a moron or group of morons that have absolutely no ties to real terrorists into commiting some preposterous “crime”.

Nice work if you can get it pay is good and lots of benefits and a fat pension to boot, but newsflash to the Gestapo, the real McCoy will not be buying any bombs from “undercover” agents.

LOL, these clowns really think they are accomplishing something useful

We must be aware of the possibility of false flags. Most intelligence operations are false flag operations.

No point in worrying about deliberate false flag ops - the truth is that ANY nasty event that occurs will immediately be portrayed by the leftwing MSM as a "right-wing" action. They've done it with virtually every high-profile shooting or riot for the last few years. They'd be painting Dorner as a right wing extremist right now if it weren't for his readily accessible internet manifesto praising Obama.

This is utterly typical of the “progressive” left and deep down, they endorse it.
