I’m sure the trace is out there but I could not find it in 5 or 6 minutes.

Recent news report said that NK had two tunnels sealed and ready. Two are not far apart. I don't know if this is just a gambit to throw us off, even though such a trick won't serve any clear purpose. If there would be indeed a second test, we won't know when. The conventional process may be that they analyze the data from this test and then move on to the second one. That means it will take weeks before they attempt it. However, they can surprise us again by doing it way before we expected. If there is another test within a week, could it lead to DEFCON fast?

We could nuke them back to the stone age, except they’re already there.

And that’s why we need or needed to take out their nuke capacity, despite the fact the consequences could be quite devastating.

Though if I had to bet, the N Korean leaders do not really want a big war they could lose.

It will serve the same purpose it always does. The west will trip over themselves sending food, fuel and the rest on the solemn promise they will never ever never pinky swear do it again.

And the next time and the next...

South Korea gave shipments of 300000 tons plus to NK in 2007 and looks like NK has been receiving tons of aid from other sources.

North Korea makes urea based fertilizer en masse, hence conversion to tons of urea nitrate is feasible.

Urea nitrate has 2X the detonation velocity of TNT so half the amount?

Someone with explosives background tell me if this is feasible.

Could NK just send in the info and fake it?

Probably hacked into the seismic network from the N.K. Internet.

Tomorrow Hussein is going to rail on against our own nukes. While the rest of the world builds up. And that’ll be on top of the gun madness.

But American wanted him.

It was just a wild party, I say. NK is the biggest in the world client of (see below.) True. The capitalists selling the rope on which to hang them/us.

I’m not real comfortable with strange creatures having nuclear toys.

It's not the strange creatures having powerful weapons that bothers me, it's the humans.

WATCHCON 4 is in effect during normal peacetime.
WATCHCON 3 is in effect amidst indications of an mportant threat.
WATCHCON 2 is in effect amidst indications of a vital threat.
WATCHCON 1 is in effect during wartime.

Without a number WATCHCON is meaningless

The top guys already knew within seconds if the signature was nuclear. We’ll find out in the next day or so.

I don't know if you are familiar with Don Cherry, the hockey analyst who is either loved or hated especially in Canada. He is generally right-of-center politically and mentions the troops periodically. In the pregame show last Saturday night, he talked of the Korean War and showed an image. Called it as many do “The Forgotten War” and then said “It isn't forgotten. If you have a father or grandfather who fought, thank them.” My father fought and was wounded, I was reminded again to thank him.

Quite clever of the USGS to put a seismometer in the middle of a nuclear test facility. Wonder how they got permission to do that ?
