This week the Department of the Interior grandly announced plans for its March oil and gas lease sale in the Central Gulf of Mexico, off Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. The announcement might have been more fitting for Groundhog Day.

To follow through with President Obama’s all-of-the-above energy strategy to expand domestic energy production, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced that the upcoming Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 227 will offer 38.6 million acres offshore Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama for oil and gas exploration and development. …
“The Obama Administration is fully committed to developing our domestic energy resources to create jobs, foster economic opportunities, and reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil,” said Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar in a released statement. “Exploration and development of the Gulf of Mexico’s vital energy resources will continue to help power our nation and drive our economy.”

The Department of the Interior is continuing to offer leases as was done under previous administrations.
The title just appears to be from a Blogger trying to gain attention without ever addressing the claim.
Yep just the same old leases over and over. They didn’t want them then and most likely don’t want them now for what ever reasons. To call it a fake is completely false, had he claimed this to be new area’s released then we’d have fraud.
You do understand this has been done for decades? And each time some leases get bid on and many get no bids at all?
After an explorer has a find, nearby sections that had no interest before are often bid high at the next auction.
The author either doesn't understand, or is counting on the reader to not understand, to have his misleading title.
I thought thats what I said, just with less words.
Mostly, and I know you understand the business.
But for the other readers of the thread, I want folks to understand that the leasing program continues at it has for a long time.
Also, it is common for sections that received no bids before to get bids at the next auction as well. Interests do change with new data, technology and price of oil/gas.
he wasn’t ‘caught’ at anything- peopel became aware, but he certainly won’t suffer ANYTHING for his LIE- The left isn’t even coy abotu their lying anymore- they do NOT care if peopel find otu hte truth or not- they will simply continue doing whatever they hell they feel like doing knowing that the MSM will NEVER hold them accoutnable for anything!
