A CNN anchor has asked on live television whether a meteor hurtling past Earth might have been caused by global warming.
Deborah Feyeric made the faux pas when she transitioned from a discussion about global warming and the blizzard that struck to east coast into a a segment about Asteroid 2012 DA14 - which is projected to pass just 17,200 miles from Earth on Friday.
'We want to bring in our science guy, Bill Nye, and talk about something else that’s falling from the sky, and that is an asteroid,' Feyerick says. 'What’s coming our way? Is this the effect of, perhaps, global warming? Or is this just some meteoric occasion?'
Nye, who has an engineering degree from Cornell University, tries to cut Feyerick off before she even finishes asking the question.
'No, no, no,' he says.
For a moment, he fumbles to answer the ridiculous question.

I don’t think raising the debt ceiling would actually cause the asteroid to miss, but if it were sufficiently reinforced you might be able to shelter under it.

“Well, you must realize, Deborah, that increased carbon dioxide levels in the upper atmosphere are a direct result of man-caused global warming, which causes an increase of magnetic intensity in the Van Allen radiation belts which is capable of skewing the trajectory of a passing asteroid, I mean, Deborah, this possibility simply cannot be ruled out!”

CNN can get away with on-air 'talent' that's 'dumber den da bed post' as long as they're talking politics... Liberals are proud of not thinking or debating ideas - they just 'believe'... You know - 'ignorant and proud of it' types... And it works - until something like this happens.
Then we all get a good laugh at CNN and wonder why anyone trusts them on anything ...
Well if the meteor is big enough it will cause global warming. So there is a link kind of.
