Jersey City Ward F City Councilwoman Diane Coleman ruffled some feathers at last nights council caucus when she joked that "everyone" in Ward F has a criminal record.
The comment caught the ire of Councilwoman at large Viola Richardson, who represented Ward F on the nine-member council for about 10 years until November 2011. Ward F encompasses many of the largely black, poor neighborhoods of the inner city.
Colemans joke came as the council discussed a federally funded job-training program up for approval at its meeting tomorrow. Keith Davis, who runs a job-training program that works with the city, told the council that applicants with a criminal history are prohibited from applying for the program.
So that means everybody in Ward F, Coleman said before laughing.
"No, it does not. No, it does not, Richardson shot back as a handful of people in attendance groaned.
"I'm only kidding," Coleman responded.
"There's a whole lot of folks who do not have a record --" Richardson started to say, before Coleman interrupted, saying, "And they're probably already working or whatever."

... What? She is what? Oh .. well then, never mind..
She black so it funny.
White Republican say this he get popped.
Yes, and only ni**ers can call them ni**ers.
The logical extension here is councilperson Coleman is a criminal.
Could you imagine having to sit in a meeting with these grifters and have to pretend that they matter?
I would like to see if there is anyone in that ward without a criminal record; I know God sent Lot looking for a dwindling number of good people in Sodom, and in the end Lot came up empty-handed...
Its no joke. Crime to these people is no big deal. These people hold a set a values and morals so different that they are of a completely alien and foreign culture, incompatible with what we would call Western civilization. Geography not withstanding they are living in a different land and different country, one that is physically dangerous for us to venture into. Its bad enough that they took over the land that our forefathers conquered and built, they only survive through the money we earned and taken from us at bayonet point.
She may be right.
I believe that it is THE goal of almost all elected and appointed government officials to make sure EVERYBODY but them have some sort of criminal record.
This little town I live in has the same population as it did in the 1950's.
In the 1950's, there were two cops that shared a marked cop car and the county jail was 3 cells on the 3rd floor of the court house.
Now, there are 80+ cops, 112+ police vehicles and the jail covers a city block, with plans to double that.
We are the "incarceration nation".
Having seen the area (did job for Jersey City schools ) and the residents can believe it .....
One friend who taught Pre - K told of one girl bringing
