from Wikipedia - Human Rights Campaign
1980 - The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) was founded. It is the largest LGBTQ equality-rights advocacy group and political lobbying organization in the United States.
2002 The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) published its 1st Corporate Equality Index. It is a tool to rate American businesses on their treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors. The Corporate Equality Index chooses companies to rank, and rates them on a scale of 0 to 100 based on flexible criteria grounded in the "10 principles" of the Equality Project. These include ...
1. A written policy of nondiscrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
2. Inclusion of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression in its diversity and sensitivity training
3. Parity in domestic partner benefits required by certain laws like the Family and Medical Leave Act.
4. Appropriate and respectful advertising to the LGBT community.
5. Transgender-inclusive health insurance benefits.
6. Rejection of any activities that would undermine the goal of equal rights for LGBT people.
Many companies are pressured to change policies that have earned them a poor score on the index, due to bad press. This has led to a competitive atmosphere among businesses to stay current in the latest LGBT-related inclusive policies. Larger corporations are much more likely to change LGBT-related policies as a result of the index than small or medium companies are. The Human Rights Campaign focuses on larger companies in the CEI, so smaller businesses are subject to little public backlash due to the efforts of the Human Rights Campaign and the index>
5/30-6/02/2012 BSA held its annual national business meeting in Orlando, FL. Telecom pioneer and Seattle Mariners co-owner, Wayne Perry, was elected as the BSA's 34th (volunteer) president. Perry, a life-long member of the LDS Church, began his career in telecommunications and was chairman and CEO of Edge Wireless until it was sold to AT&T in 2008. Sometime during the meeting, the local option (which would cancel BSA's membership ban of homosexuals) resolution was delegated to a sub-committee. It was announced that AT&T had agreed to light up The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in WV with wireless telecommunications capability in time for the 2013 National Jamboree just like it did for the 2010 National Jamboree at Ft. A.P. Hill, VA. This gift to the Reserve is reportedly of equal value to the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundations donation of $25 million.
6/13/2012 James Turley, CEO of Ernst & Young professional services and accounting firm, became the 1st member of BSAs NEB (national (volunteer) executive board) (actually Mitt Romney was 1st in 1994 and Steven Spielberg was 2nd in 2001) to publicly disapprove of BSAs membership policy and proclaimed his support for inclusion of homosexuals. Turley served on the NEB as the international commissioner on the 23-member executive committee. Ernst & Young has scored a 100% perfect score on the HRC Corporate Equality Index for 7 straight years since 2004. Turley had previously informed E&Y partners on 11/10/2011 that he would step down and make way for fresh leadership in line with a new long-term strategy.
6/13/2012 Jennifer Tyrell, a lesbian Cub Scout den mother who was kicked out of scouting 2 months before, called upon AT&T CEO, Randall Stephenson, who is also a BSA NEB member (his title is that of a vice president on the executive committee) to join Turley in speaking out against the BSAs exclusive membership policy. Stephenson is expected to be selected as the next BSA president in 2014. In response, AT&T issued a statement on Stephenson's behalf, indicating that he too might be interested in working internally to reconsider the membership policy. Both Ernst & Young and AT&T are corporate members of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. AT&Ts corporate HQ is in Dallas, TX, not far from BSAs national office in Irving, TX. AT&T has scored a 100% perfect score on the HRC Corporate Equality Index for 7 straight years since 2004.
12/06/2012 - Mormon leaders unveiled a new website encouraging church members to be compassionate in discussions about homosexuality. Church officials insisted they hadn't changed the Mormon teaching that marriage is only between a man and a woman and that same-sex relationships are sinful. However, the website included an appeal to gay and lesbian Mormons to stay in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
2/08/2013 - The Mormons are now working with Utahs LGBT leaders to help craft a statewide anti-discrimination law:
Attorneys for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are in quiet discussions with leaders of Utahs gay and lesbian community, trying to hammer out language for a statewide ban on housing and employment discrimination that the church could support.
Sen. Curt Bramble, R-Provo, opened a bill file on Thursday the last day to request attorneys draft legislation titled Housing and Employment Amendments and will sponsor the legislation should an agreement be reached.
The LDS Church leads all other denominations in sponsoring scout units and registering scouts. The LDS Church adopted BSA as its official male youth program in 1913.
You either do the bidding of Herr Dictator...or you feel his wrath.
Obama - and the Left - are doing their level best to create a pro-homosexual United States.
Biblical injunctions cut no ice with them; one wonders what the ultimate outcome will be in a world which is seen by many as a battleground between the forces of good and the forces of evil.
his (small “h” his) version of the Young Pioneers ?
The Pharaoh is trying to destroy BSA!!
The queers can scream and yell all they want. The fact remains they are a very, very small minority. Granted, a very loud minority, but a minority nonetheless.
Queers: "We are the 3.4%."
I doubt the average American has frequent contact with someone they know to be a fag.
The only thing left is to shut the BSA down, and fire all the bureaucrats and take away their non profit sinecures.
Isn’t Romney a Mormon?
