Thank you for your service!
Wise move, Sergeant.
Wookie hairs are tough to get out of a uniform...
IRS audit crappy duty station heading his way?
GOOD FOR YOU, CLINT! Besides, Moochelle’s butt would push you out of your seat anyway.
Spoken like an American warrior. (Intentional non-use of the word hero.)
Wookie hairs are tough to get out of a uniform...but you can weave them into a nice doormat.
How do you “win” a MOH?
And, IMO, with “declines Michelle Obama” he just earned his second.
Yep, I cringe every time someone in the media writes “win” the MOH, they know not of what they speak.
Big points for an honorable soldier! (Who doesn’t want to let himself be exploited by a dishonorable politician.)
Amen to that.
Good call, Sergeant.
Standing at full attention, this USAF vet (and Dad of 2 in uniform, and descendent of vets dating back to the nation's beginning, although none of us ever re-upped)...
...salutes you for your sense of honor and your valor and your putting firstmost, the true State of your Country.
Should have been “recipient”. Not “winner”.
GOOD FOR YOU, CLINT! Besides, Wookie Farts require a MOP 4 in a Brutal Rubber Suit to protect you.
Yet another good reason to not miss anniversary with the missus. A very convenient excuse not to sit next to the Wookie!
Great move. I would avoid that whole bitter family at all costs.
Wookiee will see to it that she is avenged for this.
SSgt proves without a doubt that he is worthy of the honor bestowed. Putting his friends before the limelight. God Bless Him, his friends, and his wonderful wife and kids.
Heh, heh, that’s MOPP 4 in your JLIST with the butyl gloves & booties. Worn in close proximity to the First Wookiee it might suffice.
Anyway, a hearty “well done” for the sergeant, for his heroism & his public regard for his comrades! His MOH should protect him from repercussions (I hope).
Medal Of Honor citation:
Staff Sergeant Clinton L. Romesha distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a Section Leader with Bravo Troop, 3d Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, during combat operations against an armed enemy at Combat Outpost Keating, Kamdesh District, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan on October 3, 2009.
On that morning, Staff Sergeant Romesha and his comrades awakened to an attack by an estimated 300 enemy fighters occupying the high ground on all four sides of the complex, employing concentrated fire from recoilless rifles, rocket propelled grenades, anti-aircraft machine guns, mortars and small arms fire.
Staff Sergeant Romesha moved uncovered under intense enemy fire to conduct a reconnaissance of the battlefield and seek reinforcements from the barracks before returning to action with the support of an assistant gunner.
Staff Sergeant Romesha took out an enemy machine gun team and, while engaging a second, the generator he was using for cover was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade, inflicting him with shrapnel wounds.
Undeterred by his injuries, Staff Sergeant Romesha continued to fight and upon the arrival of another soldier to aid him and the assistant gunner, he again rushed through the exposed avenue to assemble additional soldiers.
Staff Sergeant Romesha then mobilized a five-man team and returned to the fight equipped with a sniper rifle. With complete disregard for his own safety, Staff Sergeant Romesha continually exposed himself to heavy enemy fire, as he moved confidently about the battlefield engaging and destroying multiple enemy targets, including three Taliban fighters who had breached the combat outposts perimeter.
While orchestrating a successful plan to secure and reinforce key points of the battlefield, Staff Sergeant Romesha maintained radio communication with the tactical operations center. As the enemy forces attacked with even greater ferocity, unleashing a barrage of rocket-propelled grenades and recoilless rifle rounds, Staff Sergeant Romesha identified the point of attack and directed air support to destroy over 30 enemy fighters.
After receiving reports that seriously injured Soldiers were at a distant battle position, Staff Sergeant Romesha and his team provided covering fire to allow the injured Soldiers to safely reach the aid station.
Upon receipt of orders to proceed to the next objective, his team pushed forward 100 meters under overwhelming enemy fire to recover and prevent the enemy fighters from taking the bodies of their fallen comrades. Staff Sergeant Romeshas heroic actions throughout the day-long battle were critical in suppressing an enemy that had far greater numbers. His extraordinary efforts gave Bravo Troop the opportunity to regroup, reorganize and prepare for the counterattack that allowed the Troop to account for its personnel and secure Combat Outpost Keating.
Staff Sergeant Romeshas discipline and extraordinary heroism above and beyond the call of duty reflect great credit upon himself, Bravo Troop, 3d Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and the United States Army.
recipient not winner
... hed rather spend the evening with friends...
What else is there to say?
GOOD FOR YOU, CLINT! Besides, Wookie Farts require MOP 4 in a Brutal Rubber Suit.
He didn’t feel like sitting next to a pile of communist $hit, huh?
Exactly, and no sane person can blame him:)
TSA will try to confiscate it as a weapon if he wears it to board a plane.
They would, the b@stards.
“All those points could be used as a weapon.”
Outstanding choice Sergeant. You’ve already given more credibility to this sham government than it deserves. No need to allow yourself to be exploited for their sake any further.
You have suffered enough humiliation for accepting the MOH from the fools. Of course, I think it is a disgrace to the MOH for the fool to handle it in the first place.
Your honor and service remain but the recognition is diminished.
If only someone like Patton were still around to slap the living spit out of the idiot pretender for dishonoring you and other brave men.
he really, really, REALLY had to sort his sox. Really.
She’d definitely want the armrest up.
He's out of the service now. Home with his family, and working on the oil rigs (I believe).
A man who refused to be used.
God Bless him.
MOH - in the White House that means “Michele Obama Hairs”
In the real world, it means “hero”.
I’m attending a Purple Heart awarding tomorrow for a Vietnam POW/civilian. Many years too late, but earned by 5 years of Hanoi torture and imprisonment.
Sgt. Munley (former US Army police officer wounded in the Ft. Hood Massacre), and others wounded or killed by Hassan don’t get shit from Obama, Shinseki, Panetta, Dempsey, etc.
Now you know who the heroes really are, and who the ZEROS are.
