While law enforcement officials scoured the hillsides above Big Bear on Tuesday for murder suspect Christopher Dorner, wardens from California's Department of Fish and Wildlife were called in to patrol the rugged terrain of Highway 38.
It was on that highway that the officers first encountered Dorner, engaging the former cop in a white-knuckle chase involving two commandeered vehicles. The pursuit culminated in what officials described as a wild shootout between Dorner and a state game warden.
The actions by alert wildlife officers may have set in motion Dorner's last stand — in a snowbound cabin, surrounded by police. The cabin burned to the ground and there were conflicting reports over whether a body had been found inside.

The Gentlemen whose pickup was taken by Dorner with assaul weapon in his face said it was Dorner.
I believe he was the man in the fiery cabin and he did not escape.

I watched the interviews on Channel 5 here in Orange County.
Local Channel 5 also has a reporter on stakeout as his mothers house in La Palma.
They had a new and shiny AR 15 with 308 caliber they fired at the fleeing white pickup according to the interview on Channel 5.

Camouflage is critical when hunting or being hunted. Too bad he didn’t realize that his real camouflage would have been in Watts or Harlem.

They usually shoot .223/556.
An AR .308 cost mucho thousands of $$$’s. Ain’t no forest ranger gonna have a badazz weapon that has a .25 MOA @ 300yrds.
Departments know the average SWAT sniper encounter is 53yrds.

I guess we have here the total justification for the recent govt purchase of 7000 AR's, and the BILLIONS of hollow points to agencies like NOAA. See? It's totally innocent after all, in pursuit of justice and the American way!
