Skip to comments.Liberal media lavish praise on Obama but mercilessly mock Rubio's water break

If Santa Claus had a State of the Union speech, it would sound much like President Obamas latest. In it, Obama detailed a Christmas list of investments on Tuesday night that he wants government to make. In all, he included 11 separate versions of the term invest to indicate government spending your tax dollars. The solution to all that spending was, of course, more taxes when Republicans have already said no new taxes.
Naturally, the media loved it. MSNBCs Ed Schultz called it a stunning speech tonight. CNNs Jessica Yellin said Obama was relaxed and confident. Politicos summary was spot on: State of the Union reaction: Media gives Obama thumbs up.
But when it came to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) making one of the most important speeches a Hispanic has ever made in America? The media conclusion was he was all wet literally.

I wouldn’t know. To me, watching the SOTU with that thieving, lying, sack of puss in the WH is akin to purposely driving my car into a tree. I already know the end result.
I watched the Westminster Kennel Club show but checked during the commercial (with the mute button on) if he was done with his lying. Then I watched and listened to Marco Rubio’s speech. I wanted to watch Rand Paul’s speech also, but Fox News never showed it
I couldn’t watch the SOTU either, I didn’t want to shoot my TV.
(Yes we have two cats-both Chocolate Point Himalayans..and their needs come before the current POTUS.)
The wife and I certainly couldn’t stand to listen to Obama for any length of time, and we only caught a few words from Rubio. So this morning out of need for self-flagellation I visited DummyUnderground to get their reaction to the Dorner manhunt. Virtually all their posts were about Rubio and the water bottle break. So an opposing politician takes a drink of water, and this is far more important than what he says? I didn’t see the water break, but I couldn’t care less.
That’s the best the Liberal media’s got?
We shouldn't have to put up with this racism. I stand with Americans of proud Mexican heritage and I DEMAND apologies from all those bigoted racist news outlets that attacked Rubio with racial slurs and ridicule! Disgusting hate filled speach like that should not be tolerated!
Liberal media simply showed their ignorance by making fun of Rubio for taking a drink of water. Laughing at a sip of water shows the maturity and depth of the MSM’s intellect.
Well, as far as I know, the media didn’t call him a “wetback”, but their obsession with his water is worrisome ...
Obama Meets the Pressfor Lunch
The lunch is an annual affair. “The annual lunch, which is off-the-record, allows the president to frame his upcoming speech before influential figures in TV news, all of whom will be leading or part of their networks’ coverage later on.
Even some of the inside-the-beltway Republicans criticized Rubio for taking a drink of water.
Laughing at a drink of water illustrates some of the ignorance of liberals. Other ignorance of liberals involves the inability to add and subtract...as illustrated by their willingness to acquire more debt for a financially overdrawn country. Liberals have no inkling of basic arithmetic facts. Nothing we can do for them now, they are too old to learn.
where’s your barf alert?
“I watched the Westminster Kennel Club show...”
I could only bear fifteen seconds, but the immediate impression, while watching those psychotic, adolescent Progressives milling about, was that of the proverbial
Star Wars bar scene.
When Liberals focus on Rubio pausing for a sip of water it shows you how little substance they have. They can’t argue the political points effectively so they go after a water break. By the way, I had a great evening. I missed the SOTU due to a high school basketball game. Far more entertaining.
Why should there a barf alert?
They are ignorant and that is a fact
I normally don’t watch the dog show, because to be honest I find it boring, but I wanted to get as far away from a news channel as possible.
“I wanted to get as far away from a news channel as possible.”
Me too. I couldn’t bear even a second of it.
Rubio did good.
I liked his speech.
The way our nation has been going, I knew the minute Rubio touched one finger near his right temple, the mocking would begin. Then he did this at least 2 more times - also to the left temple area. It was capped off by a HUGE lean to his left to fetch the water bottle - I was hoping he was doing this to mock THEM! Silly me.
The bottle was way too far away. Better he used a podium and just reached under for the bottle. But - hey - too bad he thought he needed to do any of that.
His voice was steady enough - I wouldn’t have known he was nervous if he hadn’t done all those gymnastics.
He was wiping flop sweat, and sorry, that ain’t a good visual. A pro would not do that. Picture far too many folks concentrating on that rather than his speech.
And here we are - - mostly unforgiving.
(When our daughter was a tap dancer in 1987 on a float at Disneyland, Anaheim, those girls were not aLLOWED to wipe away any sweat. Yep - it had to roll down their face, if there was any sweat. They were monitored along the parade route, and graded on a number of things. I need to ask her what were the possible penalties.
Seeing a parade there 2 years ago, some dancing was looser, less discipined, yakking with each other. It was NOT a good thing.
This has been the era for sometime, on voting for someone according to how they come off on T.V. - sorry.
I couldn’t believe we had another ‘Jindal moment’ last night. Now believe the GOP never learns!
They need lots of TV coaches.
Ed Shultz would have still called it a stunning speech if Obama had walked in, dropped his pants, cut a fart into the microphone, then turned around and walked out.
Ed Schulz is totally clueless
“Rubio did good. I liked his speech.”
He sure did, but you can bet that the media will do the best they can to create an image of a bumbling idiot.
We watched the Westminster Dog Show. Much more interesting and the participants were much more intelligent than most of those in attendance at the liar in chief's speech.
It’s just that when I saw the words “Liberal media lavish praise on Obama” I threw up in my mouth a little.
