The libs are showing this all over tv and the net. The Repubs should retort with a huge picture of Obama with the fly on his face and ask “which would you rather see?”

Listened to it over am so I didn’t catch the search for water. What I did miss is the applause between some excellently delivered lines and don’t understand why these rebuttals are not delivered before a group of supporters which would enhance the visual presentation. After discussions last year I thought that was going to be done.

I agree. The State of the Union address is a tough act to follow, no matter who is the President. The President is announced as he enters the packed chamber, applauded as he greets supporters as he approaches the podium. He is applauded by his party numerous times throughout his speech. There is an atmosphere of pagentry surrounding this event. By contrast, the person giving the rebuttal is sitting in a room alone. There are no supporters in the room, no reaction to any of the points being made. It would be better visually if the rebuttal were given in an auditorium filled with supporters.

From a perception of a pre-packaged commodity to a real person in one somewhat less-than-graceful move. Good for him! Next time the water will be within easy reach.

...I didn’t see his facial expressions and gestures.

My take from the verbal/visual experience was that he was either very sincere, or great at playing very sincere.

Rubio did well last night. Too bad he cannot ever be President.

I like the man, but I’m not convinced he is qualified to be president as far as experience is concerned.

Obama was not qualified by experience but that did not mean squat. As a non-NBC Rubio is not eligible for the office, any more than Obama is, anyway. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Great response. I think his speech was good and so was the TEA Party's response by Rand Paul.

Hmm...Rubio/Paul '16??

My take from just listening was that he was sincere. His expressions and gestures must have reinforced that view.
