Firearm Makers Boycott Anti-Gun City and State Governments
The New American ^ | Feb 13, 2013 | Alex Newman

Liberty-minded firearm companies concerned about recent assaults on the gun rights of law-abiding citizens by Obama and others are taking action to defend the Second Amendment even if it means lost revenue, with several major firms announcing that they would no longer be supplying equipment to hostile state and local governments or their police forces. Both New York and California — where out-of-touch politicians continue to trample on citizens’ constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms — have become primary targets. Activists and the companies are urging others to join the effort against more gun control now.

Among the manufacturers that have publicly announced their plans to prohibit sales to anti-Second Amendment authorities so far are LaRue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Extreme Firepower (EFI, LLC), and Barrett Firearms. All four firms, in solidarity with citizens in jurisdictions victimized by a lawless political class that refuses to uphold the Constitution, have expressed strong support for Americans’ unalienable rights. Gun rights activists nationwide rushed to celebrate the companies’ valor.

If citizens cannot purchase certain guns or accessories in places such as California, Chicago, or New York, then authorities cannot either, the companies essentially announced. In a press release posted online on Tuesday praising the Constitution and Bill of Rights, Olympic Arms President Brian Schuetz urged all firearm manufacturers to join the boycott effort, saying that they should stand together to repel politicians’ hostile assaults on the rights of citizens.

“Olympic Arms is a staunch believer in and defender of the Constitution of the United States, and with special attention paid to the Bill of Rights that succinctly enumerates the security of our Divinely given Rights. One of those Rights is that to Keep and Bear Arms,” Schuetz said in the statement, which was widely lauded by gun rights activists.

what is it that these makers sell?

will these states and cities just “work around” ala iranian embargo or cuban embargo?

does this actually mean anything? will the cities feel any hurt?

Our founding fathers never contemplated, however, whether the open availability of modern military hardware would be necessary to ensure individual liberty in the 21st century. High-capacity ammunition magazines, high-powered assault rifles, and even semi-automatic weapons had yet to be invented, so it now falls upon us to determine the place of modern, highly lethal weapons of war in civil society.

LOL! Right. Our Founding Fathers never envisioned... blah, blah, blah. Though our Founding Fathers did issue letters of Marques and Reprisal that authorized private citizens to use their own ships as warships complete with cannon. I don't think they'd have an issue with "semi-automatic weapons" or "high-capacity ammunition magazines". Hmmm. Maybe I can pickup the Iowa for cheap.

A few large ammo makers control the market, if they were patriots, they would all decide to sell nothing to the Feds, as well as any of the antigun states and localities, cancel all contracts, starve the bastards! Let THEM battle the gangs and druggies with a stick and an empty gun.

From my Representative, Mario-Diaz Balart:

“I want to assure you that I will be vigilant in monitoring bills that may be harmful to the interests of law-abiding gun owners. I am a staunch proponent of the Second Amendment, which clearly protects our individual right to keep and bear arms. I believe gun control policies fail to recognize that criminals, not guns, are the root cause of crime and violence in America.”

Still waiting to hear from four Senators representing states where I own property and have many relatives. At least this response gives me some hope that facts, not emotion, may rule the day.

Now if only companies like Ruger and Colt and whoever else has plants in the northeast would tell those clowns that on July 4, 2013 they will move their operations to more friendly states and the revenue generated plus the taxes paid to said states would stop. As well as the taxes paid on the folks on the payroll.

Ruger has a plant in Prescott, AZ that runs about 24/7 and they can hardly keep up with orders. I believe Colt has either just built or will be building a new facility in Florida.

They should (easy for me to say) shut their northeast ops in any case.

>>There is a federal law that allows LEOs to carry concealed regardless of local or state laws.<<

Ask your Sheriff what he thinks of that law. I believe that Sheriff’s still issue CCW permits to the FBI and BATFE agents assigned to their counties.

There is a court case (from memory so I cant site at moment) where a NY or NJ port authority arrested a Coast Guard LEO. Case was thrown out and the individual successfully sued the arresting authority.

Sheriffs can ignore the law and arrest anyway, but they do so with the a risk to their budgets.

“LaRue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Extreme Firepower (EFI, LLC), and Barrett Firearms.”

These particular firearms sources do not sell what I am in the market for, but I guess I’ll have to find something I can use...

What needs to be happening RIGHT NOW is the decentralization of gun manufacturing. If there is a $10,000 kit that you could buy that gives you a basic press, lathe, drill and whatever other equipment that is needed to make firearms from relatively available materials, then patriots nationwide could purchase that kit, make their own guns in their garage or shop, and maybe even make enough doing it to get their investment back. Imagine thousands of these kits out there. Now try to take our guns, you Nazi bastards!

So, she’d be OK with restricting freedom of speech and the press because the internet, radio, and TV weren’t even thought of at the time of the Framers?

It’s about time! Firearm makers are taking a stand, refusing to sell weapons to city and state governments that are hostile to our Second Amendment rights! I FULLY SUPPORT all Firearm makers BOYCOTTING the City of Chicago. Now let’s get the Ammunition manufacturers on board too! No Guns and No Bullets for Chicago PD! Take THAT Rahm Emmanuel!
