Top candidate to be next Pope has ties to creation of global economic system

On Feb. 10, the world was shocked to hear that Pope Benedict would step down from his Papal office on Feb. 28, and become the first leader of the Catholic church to resign from office in over 500 years. However, speculation for his replacement is already under way, and the front runner to become the next Pope has strong ties to the creation of a global economic system, as well as being a prime candidate to an ancient Catholic prophecy suggesting he would help lead the world into a new order.

“The front runner to be the next pope is this man, Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson.

Cardinal Turkson has said that "if God would wish to see a black man also as pope, thanks be to God". The Catholic Church chronicler Rocco Palmo called Turkson the lone Scripture scholar in the Pope's "Senate" and believes that his status as a potential "papabile " has been elevated due to his appointment as spokesman for Second Synod for Africa in 2009.

Very strange for a cardinal to be campaigning for the position of pope.Who is he to say its time for a third world pope? One would think the voting cardianls will see through this campaign. Turkson has advocated a new world order with a single currency, that’s enough for this guy. Maybe its time to go back to a paisano.

Ofcourse, this is what the resignation was ALL about.

Freepers who still don't get it --- we are moving into world government. At warp speed, I might add.

It's been said that those going into the conclave, expecting to be Pope...usually come out as cardinals.

It seems like Turkson is campaigning for being named Pope. Also I believe the MSM would love to see a black Pope.

HOWEVER, remember the common saying: “He who enters the Sistine Chapel as Pope, leaves as a Cardinal.”

I love that saying. As a devout Catholic, I believe that God and the Holy Spirit are the ones truly in charge. Not the general public or the MSM.

The Book of Revelation speaks of the antichrist having those who oppose him beheaded, very similar to what happens in Islamic countries today.

The antichrist may or may not arise from the Islamic world - but one thing is for sure, the Bible clearly tells us who the enemies of Israel are (Psalm 83 war, Ezekiel 38 &39). Most of those nations are Islamic.

I wonder who the False Prophet will be? He could be from the same region as the antichrist, but he could also be from a completely difference sphere.

Wonder how Michelle feels knowing that she’s sleeping with the Beast.

Are you sure it's Mooschelle that's sleeping with The Beast?

This guy sounds like he is running for office. Seriously. I cannot imagine John Paul II making a statement like this before he was elected pope.

It almost sounds like I could insert a few Obama lines about "change", "a fair living wage for all", and "affordable health care" into the statements he made to the media, and it would fit right in. I am serious.

"It would certainly mean a lot if I had to be a pope," he said. "If I was elected pope it would signal a lot of [personal] change. Very big change in a lot of regards. I have been an archbishop, which involved a certain amount of leadership and now having to do this on a world level, the dimensions expand almost infinitely.

"It is going to be a life-changing experience and I think that is what it has been for Benedict and those who have gone before us. The challenge will also be with the individual to want to make his mark, not trying to fit into anybody's shoes but finding his own shoes to wear."

Cardinal Turkson also said the Vatican needs to "restore and repair" an image that has been "badly compromised by recent scandals".

Pope Benedict's eight-year papacy saw controversies over paedophile priests, a tense relationship with the Muslim world, and the conviction of his butler for stealing documents that revealed corruption at the top of the Vatican.

"[We need] to relevantly address issues and the credibility of our own ministry and leadership," said Cardinal Turkson. "The Church, if you adopt the imagery of a boat, is going through quite a bit of a storm and it does not appear to be over yet," he said.

I put my faith in Jesus Christ. He alone is my Savior.

As do I.

I will not go into any detail here about my feelings about the RCC. It would offend many here and...no one cares what I think anyway.

“Every word you wrote you just made up out of thin air.”

If I was the Pope, you’d believe every word of it.

I think, based on this, we can safely assume that the Turkson candidacy will now peter out.

Also yellows: China, Taiwan, South Korea. And the Philippines, if they count as yellow. (These color schemes are always iffy. My younger son, for instance, is a full-blooded Koryak. Supposedly that could be yellow, as in "Indigenous Kamchatka Asian," but actually looks more khaki. In the summertime, a warm khaki.)

"The Catholic Church creates its own scripture."

Why, thank you! I always appreciate it when somebody credits the Catholic Church for the development of the Canon of Scripture.

I would have stopped the sexual abuse. I guess that makes me instantly more qualified to lead than the last guy ;)
