Top candidate to be next Pope has ties to creation of global economic system

On Feb. 10, the world was shocked to hear that Pope Benedict would step down from his Papal office on Feb. 28, and become the first leader of the Catholic church to resign from office in over 500 years. However, speculation for his replacement is already under way, and the front runner to become the next Pope has strong ties to the creation of a global economic system, as well as being a prime candidate to an ancient Catholic prophecy suggesting he would help lead the world into a new order.

“The front runner to be the next pope is this man, Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson.

Cardinal Turkson has said that "if God would wish to see a black man also as pope, thanks be to God". The Catholic Church chronicler Rocco Palmo called Turkson the lone Scripture scholar in the Pope's "Senate" and believes that his status as a potential "papabile " has been elevated due to his appointment as spokesman for Second Synod for Africa in 2009.

Interesting, and frightening.

"Cardinal Turkson has said that "if God would wish to see a black man also as pope, thanks be to God". The Catholic Church chronicler Rocco Palmo called Turkson the lone Scripture scholar in the Pope's "Senate" and believes that his status as a potential "papabile " has been elevated due to his appointment as spokesman for Second Synod for Africa in 2009."

Cardinal Peter Turkson of Roman Curia

Cardinal Turkson: “For me to attack Islam would be to attack my own family”

Homosexuality: In 2012, in response to a speech by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urging Church leaders to do more for human rights and in particular gay rights in Africa, Turkson, while recognising that some of the sanctions imposed on homosexuals in Africa are an “exaggeration,” stated that the “intensity of the reaction is probably commensurate with tradition.” “Just as there’s a sense of a call for rights, there’s also a call to respect culture, of all kinds of people,” he said. “So, if it’s being stigmatized, in fairness, it’s probably right to find out why it is being stigmatized.” He also called for distinction to be made between human rights and moral issues.[29]

The list ends with a pope identified as "Peter the Roman", whose pontificate will allegedly bring the destruction of the city of Rome and the beginning of the Apocalypse.

If this guy is made Pope, that I’m pretty certain that he will be the last Pope (as predicted)... I don’t believe the Church will survive it.

I am beginning to think that somebody made Pope Benedict an offer he couldn’t refuse. . . . especially if Turkson is the man.

In the end, it is up to the Holy Spirit to make the final decison. As the saying goes, Cardinal Turkson could go in thinking he is the next Pope, but he very well ends up being just a cardinal.

The majority of the Cardinals prefer some system other than Capitalism IMO.

I don't put much credence in 9th century prophets for popes. However, I do believe 100% in scripture.

In order for Revelation to come true, the beast must control the world's money supply and economics.

Here we have a man who could be elected pope (the "black pope"), who has come out in public support through his statements supporting a global economic system and a new world order. I don't mean to put on my black helicopter flight suit, but this is ominous news.

If he were elected pope, he would wield enormous influence because governments and world organizations that want a world currency and global economic system could utilize his statements and support to enact such. Moreover, the UN would back him because he has called for a tax on global financial transactions. The UN has been lobbying for this for years.

It would all be dressed up under the guise of "ending poverty" and "world unity" for a new Utopia.

Moreover, the fact that his paternal uncle is a Muslim troubles me. It just does.

I put my faith in Jesus Christ. He alone is my Savior.

First of all, the media does not decide who is Pope like they decide who is president. Secondly, no Pope that I know of has advocated for himself to become Pope. It is up to the College of Cardinals to decide. Most Popes have accepted the position but have not campaigned for it, at least in modern times. If they decide on this man, then so be it, but you never know what their decision will be. I do know that both John Paul II and Benedict have appointed conservative Cardinals, so, we’ll see.

Or all this could be a sign that the global south branch of the Christian faith is now starting to “flex” its muscles.

I would be very skeptical of an article that gives any credence to the made up prophecies of St Malachy.

Look, on FR we don’t trust what the MSM says. Why are so many FReepers swallowing this Turkson boomlet?

It’s a deliberately manufactured effort to sway the electors and it won’t have ANY effect on them.

The MSM and elements within the Church want to puff him up so that when he is not elected (as he WILL not be), they can accuse the Church of Racism and Euro-centrism.

Turkson has taken himself out of the running by openly campaigning for the office. That shows, quite apart from his being from the Justice and Peace tinfoil brigade of the Church, that he
just
doesn’t
get
it.

Anyone who isn’t scared silly of the prospect of being chosen is a bad choice. Anyone who actually wants the office doesn’t have clue about what the Office of Peter is.

Turkson did himself in with his foolish interview in the Telegraph. That demonstrates not only that he’s unfit because he’s campaigning for the office but that he’s not even smart enough, as a campaigner, to know that the best way not to get elected is to openly campaign for it.

Keep your eye on Cardinal Ranjith of Sri Lanka.
