Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin wrote Wednesday that America is a nation being bankrupt by a federal government led by "venal politicians" in her response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address.
"What is the true state of our union? Though this may sound harsh, I’ll speak the truth here," Palin wrote. "We are a country going bankrupt to fund a bloated, distant, and often corrupt federal government led by venal politicians more concerned with paying off their campaign cronies and consolidating their own power than in preserving the constitutional republic that so many have fought and died for (including our brave men and women in uniform who were barely mentioned last night)."
Palin has assailed the "permanent political class" since her landmark speech in Indianola, Iowa in 2011 that introduced that language into the political bloodstream. Director Stephen K. Bannon and Peter Schweizer's Government Accountability Institute have assailed D.C. as a "boomtown" that produces nothing but continues to get wealthier by expanding the size and scope of government.
During the State of the Union address on Tuesday, Palin live-tweeted with the "#SOTUGottaBKiddingMe" hashtag, assailing Obama and Washington, D.C.'s permanent political class for their cronyism. After the speech, Palin called out Obama for not honoring slain ex-Navy Seal Chris Kyle or U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens during the address. After attending Kyle's funeral on Monday, Palin said Obama needed to "pay his respects" to the fallen American hero.
"If you missed President Obama’s State of the Union address last night, you didn’t miss much – especially if you watched any of his past four State of the Union addresses," Palin wrote.

Hmmm. Just thinking what a trip it would have been if this had instead been served up as a part of the official televised Republican rebuttal to Obama, with such passages as this:

Wow, the mind reels. So glad there’s at least someone out there who genuinely offers a voice to the views I hold. Not getting that much anymore from the GOP proper, to put it mildly.

Agreed. She's the one fighter on our side who's got the total package of what it's going to take to keep this nation from going into full-blown meltdown.
I know that she's as informed, and as pissed off with Obozo as every Freeper is, but unlike most of us, she's positioned to actually do the sort of things that can correct the course of an entire nation.
This nation needed her true and steady hand at the top in 2012, and we'll need it even more-so in four years.
I hope she stays pissed off, and that it motivates her to take the necessary steps that lead to the White House in 2016.

You know, when Sarah announced she wasn’t going to run last time, it took the heart right out of me. I tried to get enthused about SOMEONE, but just couldn’t ever do it. I am telling you now, that if Sarah was on the other side of hell and announced she was going to run THIS time, I would walk all the way through hell to support her. And that’s a fact.

One in 10,000 possibly. I don’t think we should ‘not’ point it out by any means, don’t get me wrong. But it is my solid belief, which I think the facts bear out, that two decades of solid and ‘purposed’ propaganda/education have created a world willed with those who do not ‘want’ to know the truth or be burdened with the responsibility of accepting it. Far easier to just go along/get along.
If the libs had waited another 10 years, when most of the WW2 generation had joined the choir invisible and those of us in Gen X were looking into applying, they would have got it in a walk. But as Rush said, they always overreach.
Now, they have alerted a generation of video game players who LOVE guns, that they want to take them away because they can’t be trusted. IMO, that single thing in this issue hurt them more than anything. Now everyone from Sherrifs to military groups is slowly getting their collective poop together on it. And the young pups are asking uncomfortable questions.
As for Palin, the bottom line is as it was. Her positions, speeches et all, are far and away lockstep with what many of the old guard believe. No one is perfect afterall. And before we worry about fighting the MSM, Dams and GOP on her, we need to rid ourselves of the idiots here and other conservative sites/groups that parrot MSNBC.
And if not her that steps up, then we can only look to those who think like her. And if idiots call that whatever, so be it. It’s the ideas that matter most.
Just to be clear, I know full well the libs have been doing the propaganda war far more than 20 years. I meant that they got serious. Rebuilding curriculum around social justice/environmentalism, going 1984 on the language etc.
In the 80s, we still had a modicum of freedom. The 90s saw about every TV show used to further the agenda. And from there it was an all out war.

Sarah talks the talk all right, but we don’t need another four years here of breathless gushing: `Will she? Won’t she?!’ only to have her say, again, oh, about summer 2016: “Never mind! You understand, I’m sure. The MSM is just so darned mean ... “. So yeah, her hairdresser AND the rest of us want to know, and ASAP.
A candidate either has the fire in the belly or she doesn’t. She disappointed a lot of people here not too long ago.
If she’s serious about running she should declare now and make it clear that’s what she’s doing and do it as soon as possible.
The ring’s pretty close to empty of conservative candidates right now. The RINOs and CINOs `ran the zoo’ last go-around and it got us Romney. Things look bleak and it would be just what we need.
So on that question she either decides to fish this time, or she continues to cut bait, but no more of this coy `Maybe, maybe not’ nonsense. She either says she’s running or she’s just another pundit/talking head, albeit an attractive, conservative one. If she decides not to run she remains an opinion leader but nothing more, and we can concentrate on throwing out the Democrats and electing a non-GOP-establishment candidate. No more beating around the bush.
