TO THE EDITOR:

Republicans and “so-called” conservatives are at it again. They are claiming that the Constitution gives people the right to have guns without the permission of the government. If that were true, then how could New York and Chicago have laws against it?

...because no one has challenged the Constitutionality of those idiotic laws. Someone finally did in DC....and got that crap tossed out.

We’ve become a nation of drooling idiots.

if permission is required, it is not a right, but a conditional privilege that can be taken away. We do not have a Bill of Privileges

Because there are people who are determined to rule others and those who intend to rule have no respect for the Constitution.

It has ever been like that, since Plato, Socrates...from their day to today.

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are not about guns nor even free speech. They are about man’s thirst for power over others and a way to keep the power mad from ruining our country.

It is, as our forefathers warned us, a never ending fight as each generation produces a new group that devises new ways to take our rights from us.

The Liberal Agenda Media loves nothing more than to demonize debate on viewpoints that are different from theirs.

The maturity level of a Liberal is that of a teenager, Ben Stein calls it “Juvenile.”

Middle-of-the-road guys like me that believe that there should be NO Federal borrowing, “selling” of US Bonds, or anything else that causes the damned Federal Government to live beyond its means, are wasting our time reasoning with Liberals.

While the Liberals couch all of our reasoned discussions as “wedge” issues that will splinter the GOP, we need to continue to focus on where WE as the GOP has gone onto the wrong track.

Let us consider that the GOP is a football team. One of the Assistant Coaches is Karl Rove. Karl’s strong suit is the Buckley Rule: “Support your team mates if : 1) They are athletes that you like, and 2.) If you think they can win the next game.”

[Note: the real Buckley Rule is: “ Support the most Conservative candidate, who can be elected. In the last election the GOP followed the Buckley Rule to the letter and chose Socialist, Father of Romney”care,” never-attack-your-opponent, wussy, Mitter-or-Mutter Romney.]

Back to GOP Football. Ass. Coach Rove picks out his choices for the O-Line, and to a man they agree that there is no sense playing any game this season because there is no way that they can win the Football Game. The Opposition has just to many bad things to say and print in their news shows and newspapers, well -— - - - it is just to hard!

The sponsors, (you and me), of this GOP Team are tired of the self-defeating Buckley Rule, and want the rule and Ass. Coach Rove sent back to the locker room where the trainers can work some sense in Rove.

Quarterback Boehner does not like some players, and has already sent 3 of them to warm up the bench. Q. Boehner is driven to tears fearing that Middle Line Backer Reid knows all of Boehner’s passing routes. Reid’s team does not play fair! Boo-hoo!

Earlier this year in the Sequester Bowl, Q. Boehner clutched up and called to many time outs that his team had negative yardage due to delay of game penalties.

Quarterback Boehner is still convinced that the upcoming Debt Ceiling Superbowl cannot be won due to statements of smug victory in the Puppet Liberal Agenda Media by Coach Obama and Middle Line Backer Reid.

Quarterback Boehner is considering polling the solid RINOs on his team to find out whether or not they can beat Reid and Obama.

Right now it looks like the RINO team members are leaning toward postponing the Debt Ceiling Superbowl until Reid and Obama start to say nice things about them.

Coach Obama’s outgoing Waterboy Timmy Geihtner, has assured his replacement that RINOs on a team make it easy to manipulate them.

Geihtner claims that all you have to do is hold a Puppet Press Conference and just say “NO!”

The writer assumes that Those 2 States would not have laws in violation of the Constitution.
I do not make that assumption.
Probally 30-35 percent of what the Federal Government does in in violation of the US Constitution.
The seperation of Church and State. Does not exist anywhere in the US Constitution. Yet a Court has told us that it does indeed exist.

Wow, you can't argue with logic like that!

Actually you can't. It's like arguing with your refrigerator, except your fridge at least keeps food cold.

What is really funny is the way how everyone is missing the obvious clues indicating the comment was made as a satire of the Liberal thinking and behavior. In other worlds, the comment was a hoax.

Graewoulf, Close, but no cigar.

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/340485/buckley-rule-according-bill-not-karl-neal-b-freeman

Buckley Rule — According to Bill {Buckley}, not Karl [Rove]

9th paragraph, last sentence.

With each of us in our assigned seat and with six pairs of eyeballs staring at him unblinkingly, Bill announced that “National Review will support the rightwardmost viable candidate.” {Emphasis Added}

10th & 11th paragraph(s):

Victory for Team Goldwater! We all knew what “viable” meant in Bill’s {Buckley} lexicon. It meant somebody who saw the world as we did. Somebody who would bring credit to our cause. Somebody who, win or lose, would conservatize the Republican party and the country. It meant somebody like Barry Goldwater. (And so it came to pass. For the next 40 years, the GOP nominated and elected men from the West and the South. Nixon won twice, Reagan twice, the Bushes thrice. Only in recent cycles has the GOP reverted to its habit of nominating “moderates” favored by the establishment. Dole, McCain, Romney — all of them were admired by the fashionable media until they won the GOP nomination, at which point they were abandoned in favor of the liberal nominated by the Democrats.)

Bill Buckley was careful with words. If he had opted on that June day for the words “rightwardmost electable candidate,” we would all have recognized it as a victory for Team Rockefeller. And life might look very different today. If there had been no Goldwater, National Review might not have become so influential, and if there had been no Goldwater, no National Review, there might have been no Reagan.

Not meant to harass, but merely get the truth out., exactly just what did William F. Buckley Jr., say.

You should post the entire “letter,” it’s a doozie! I have it, but can’t convert it to text. The part about how the Constitution needs to be “amended” because the founding fathers didn’t know about “C” Sections and as a consequence all of those born by this means are Ineligible to be president because they are not “natural born” makes me wonder if it isn’t a spoof. But then again, we do have people in this country that are that stupid.

Beaufort, N.C.

Jan. 17, 2013

TO THE EDITOR:

Republicans and “so-called” conservatives are at it again. They are claiming that the Constitution gives people the right to have guns without the permission of the government. If that were true, then how could New York and Chicago have laws against it?

We Democrats are sick and tired of Republicans constantly using the Constitution to cover up their true plans, which are to make us all afraid of everyone else. Our great president came from a civilized part of the country where there is strict gun control, and he is only trying to bring the benefits of that more modern way of living to the rest of us. I don’t know the exact statistics, but I’m quite certain that Chicago is a lot safer that Morehead City, when it comes to gun violence.

But do Republicans and conservatives listen to the voice of reason? No, of course not. All they want to do is whine and complain about how gun control and wealth redistribution violate the Constitution, as if the Constitution were all that great, anyway. There are a lot of things that need to be changed about the Constitution, I’d say, and President Obama needs to change it.

The Republicans are just trying to stand in the way, because the president is black. They even dared to question whether he was born in this country. I think all this demonstrates that the Constitution needs to be amended when it comes to the qualifications for being president. Right now, it says that a person has to be 35 years old and be a natural born citizen. Well, that is obviously unfair because there are a great many otherwise qualified people who cannot run for president because their mothers had to have a C-section. But because the Constitution was written a hundred years ago, nobody even thought of the discrimination that would result from a doctor having to deliver a baby in this unnatural way. Now that we Democrats are in control of the government, that’s just one more thing we should change in our drive to make life fair. {Emphasis Added by Stanwood_Dave}

Please withhold my name because I don’t want to get crank calls.

PROUD TO BE A DEMOCRAT

Sorry, but Obama is a Mulatto at best, not "black" as declared by "PROUD TO BE A DEMOCRAT."

For all Low Information Voter(s), or Outcome Based UN-Educated Graduate(s), Obama's mother was white, not "black."

Obama's mother was raised in / on Mercer Island, Washington State. It was then while she was growing up, and still is today 2013, a hotbed for very strong Socialistic / Communist sympathizing, just like the rest of Western Washington State.

Eastern Washington (East of the Cascade Mountains) very strong Conservative way of life, & politics. Just like Night (Western Wa.) is to Daytime (Eastern Wa.).because the president is s mother was white, not

” - - - Bill announced that “National Review will support the rightwardmost viable candidate.” {Emphasis Added} - - - “

I stand corrected. Thank you! Always happy to be corrected to the ‘Reality of Fact.”

Okay, so here we are with ol’ “Turd Blossom” Rove running around with his balding scalp on fire, vetting all potential Candidates on HIS opinion of electability by invoking HIS bastardized re-definition of the Bill Buckley Rule.

[ Note: Here I am making the assumption that Rove does not distinguish between viability and electability. Please correct me if Rove’s public utterances are at variance with that assumption. ]

“Viability” not “electability” is the Buckley standard, as you so carefully documented.

Perhaps the Rule that Rove is using, based on electability, should be named after Rove? Say “The Rove Electability Rule.”

BTW, us graewoulves have REALLY thick hides, so never shy away from flaming me.
