One thing that this story confirms is that Dorner was a better, cooler shot than anybody he met up with. That is a sad fact.

Dorner also had tactical advantage. I suspect that ex-Marine who fired 20 .308's in Dorner's direction would better Dorner, given the same tactical advantages that Dorner had.
Just saying, I don't think the brush sweeps quite as broad as your remark says.
