As someone who grew up as a Washington fan and is also part American Indian, I've found the nickname to always be a dumb and offensive one.

I've got to wonder if the moron who penned this screed is part American Indian in the same way that Elizabeth Warren is. I can bet that they've never spend any real time on the Rez or talked to actual American Indians as I have.

Unless it is some libtard getting government money as a professional whiner, I can tell you from experience that not only does no real American Indian object to these mascot names, they root for the teams. Washington is overwhelmingly the favorite NFL team. Many of those who make good and leave the Rez, especially for a job in the Federal government, is referred to both affectionately and disdainfully (depend on who you talk to) as a Washington Redskin.

The idea that all Indians think alike is as idiotic as your average Libtard. Those who subsist on mostly government handouts (the Sioux in the Dakotas, Chippewa in Minnesota) pretty much vote the libtard line. Those who are mostly self-sufficient or even prosperous (Osage in Oklahoma, Utes in Utah) vote as conservatively as their Baptist and Mormon neighbors, respectively.
