Taxpayers will be sending President Obama on his second vacation of the year when he departs Friday aboard Air Force One for a Presidents’ Day Weekend excursion to West Palm Beach, Florida.
Without apparent irony, Obama has decided to jet to a well-trod stomping ground of the rich just days after presenting himself to the nation in his State of the Union speech as the guardian of the middle class.
Obama presumably will head directly to some fabulous golf course, having not been able to play in recent weeks because of the cold weather in Washington.
While Obama may pay some hotel and other miscellaneous costs related to his vacation travel, taxpayers are on the hook for much of the expense, shelling out for the president’s travel aboard Air Force One, a cargo plane that carries supplies, and the cost of the president’s substantial staff and security retinue.
While unemployment stands at nearly eight percent, Obama is taking his second vacation of 2013. The year is only six weeks old.
Obama initially traveled to Hawaii in late December. He returned after a several days to work on a fiscal cliff deal, and then went back for several more days in early January after signing a bill. So this will also be the third time in less than two months that taxpayers have footed the bill for a round-trip Obama vacation.
It’s not clear if Michelle is going with him – the White House announcement of Obama’s plans doesn’t mention her. She usually goes skiing in the Rockies around this point in the year.
obammy is actually going to be staying at the Floridian Golf and Country Club in Palm City.

Strange that he vacations in Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard and West Palm Beach. You’d think he’d vacation in Detroit or Baltimore, seeing as he’s down for the struggle.

Every day is a vacation day for Obama since he hasn’t done the job once since he’s been in office.
I doubt she'll stay in Washington while he's gone. The girl's are probably out of school next week, so I see her going on a separate trip somewhere, and taking her entourage with her. They're probably keeping her plans close to the vest to forestall criticism, although it's obvious they could care less what the public thinks.
No way would she go if it was West Palm Beach....now if it were Palm Beach, you bet she’ll be renting out the entire Breakers Resort.

Faaannnntastic! Sounds like a swell time if they could pull it off. I’m sure El Rushbo and Col. West could give some pointers on hussein’s swing. Maybe some tips on tossing a baseball while they’re at it. But no football. Too dangerous. Maybe they could “do some skeet shooting” while they are at it. hussein could bring his black powder fully semi auto lever action 80 round break over .410 ported barrel shot gun in .223 with him. Not to mention a ringer in the weeds to actually hit the clays while hussein keep his weapon horizontal.

I was gonna say there’s a big difference between West Palm Beach and Palm Beach.
He keeps your plane (AF-1) packed and ready at all times, has a travel tzar for that purpose.
This 2nd term should really be something to behold. O and Mooch have probably been poring over a map of the world looking for the toniest spots. I’m sure they’re going to milk his reelection for all it’s worth.

BS. My brother is an Engineer at a civilian company and his company is off Monday. Pick your employer wisely next time.
